Oxford have got spirit - you’ve got to give them that.

Can see us getting turned over at their place. Just the sort of game we would lose

Oxford gained a point on us since we lost at Coventry.

Them and Portsmouth both drew at home to QPR. We lost at Preston too so no gain on Portsmouth.

We gain a point on Blackburn since they lost at home to QPR, and we have both lost at Norwich.

No other games to compare (Leicester failed to match our draw at Birmingham, but haven't played QPR at home yet)

I was watching the game. Second half it was 1 way traffic and they were just digging in, but first half I was surprised at how they attacked in numbers.

At the moment its Oxford (too much to do) and Blackburn (just look awful) who look most likely for me to join Sheff Wed
Blackburn did the double against Norwich today. Failed to score. That's just 3 teams so far this season who have not scored against Norwich.

    Blackburn (twice)
    CAFC
    WBA

And yet we are on the same pts with a game in hand, so doesn’t really matter.

Coventry are really bottling it aren't they. 2 months ago they were well ahead at the top of the League but by the end of the month they could be out of the automatic places.

I'll be surprised but Millwall do have a decent chance of automatics..

Seems they are believing they’re own hype, Lampard was going on like they’d won it a while back.😂

In the first half of the season they were massively outperforming their stats, it felt like their strikers were scoring with every shot they took. They're good, but not that good.

Now they've gone the other way...

Pompey, Leicester and Blackburn losing is good news and West Brom just getting a point at home is a positive but disappointed with Coventry they couldn't beat Oxford.

Norwich are the form team in the bottom half of the table so excellent they mastered Rovers and I'm impressed with their 12 points from the last 6 games whereas Blackburn and Leicester picked up 4 points from 18 and West Brom just the 2 points from 18.

Until or if we get 10 points clear of the 22nd team, can we look at teams above and not below.

Respectfully, please stop this repetitive utter bilge.

So last game we lose at Swansea, and Oxford draw at Millwall. They are still relegated but gain on our result at Millwall. Pointless .twaddle.
I don't think it's bilge; it's just a different way of viewing results, week by week.

Last game may well play out as you describe but by then i wouldn't be doing comparisons in the same way as the table will be complete but for that last fixture - and by then hopefully we'll be safe.

So respectfully, i appreciate the challenge but i think you're taking issue with an alternative perspective to what the conventional table provides, without so far being able to justify why.

I'll justify why its bilge and said so last week.

We all play teams at different times of the season, with different players due to injuries & different managers due to sackings.

The only time where your analysis might be relevant is if 4 teams play each other within a space of a week or two, so players, line ups etc should be fairly similar. But us beating Watford at home on the the first day of the season can't compare to Oxford playing them at home at Easter.

Got to agree with Golfie! The only comparison worth its salt is how many points we all get between now and the end of the season

If only there was some kind of ranking system based on winning points in head to head matches played, whereby eventually every team has played every other team (home and away so it's fair) and then at the end of this the three worst teams are excluded from this "league" and have to drop into the next one down.

    It'll never catch on.

3 big games of massive interest to us on Tuesday night, before we play on Wednesday: -

    Leicester v Southampton
    Oxford v Norwich
    Birmingham v West Brom

No wins for the teams down there with us would be very nice indeed.

Win our next two games and we’re only a point behind Stoke who are 13th.

If we were the sort of team that could win our next 2 games, then we wouldn't be looking over our shoulder. Unfortunately we are not!

No matter what position they currently sit in or how they’ve been playing, every team in the Championship is the sort of team that could probably go out and win their next two matches. That’s what makes it such a tough division.

That point against Coventry, on new years day, is looking even worse now

Oxford have 3 nil nils in 2026, Bloomfield has made them much harder to beat
