Thought our set pieces were bang average tonight...6

I feel like Berry is the forgotten man a little bit this season. On that showing he’ll have a big part to play.27

Championship Blackburn, Pompey, Middlesbrough and Ipswich all being knocked out.
Ipswich lose on Penalties to Bromley.
Charlton still in the cup 👏🏻11 -
Get in bromley 🤣5
-
Bromley would be a nice local fixture for the next round.

Did what we needed to do in the first half. Meant the second half was a bit of a drag but that’s fine. Very pleasant evening at the Valley watching a really decent Charlton team beat a pub team comfortably.4

I kept having to remind myself that Kayne Ramsay wasn't on the pitch towards the end of the game as Alan Mwamba was also playing with a bandage on his hand. Is that a recent injury or are they all giving themsleves RSI playing too much FIFA?2

They will need to work with linking Kelman into this squad, the longer he goes without scoring the worse it will get. I do think when the whole team is up and running the goals will come0

TC got pelters for no end product on Saturday, but Kelman was in the box surrounded by 3 or 4 defenders, basically static.
Do our recruitment team not look at stats and heat maps?
What they look at is Charlie Kelman's 27 goals in all competitions last season and feel at 23 he can continue to improve.

Based on Derby away two years ago and his play off performances last year, plus this evening......
Anderson's ceiling eclipses Doherty before Christmas0 -
I've just witnessed a complete farce tonight, presided over by a nutcase manager who doesn't have a clue.
So it was nice after watching Fawlty Towers to see that we've won 3-1.13 - Sponsored links:

Well I enjoyed watching that a bit more than the bloke by the commentator who kept letting out a massive yawn!
A good run out for some and through to the next round. I think being in L1 so much many thanks can’t really differentiate the early rounds of the League Cup with the Papa Johns shite.Good news for the fam that got to go was being able to park close and be home in record quick time. Like the good old days!3 -

Thierry Small use to play with a bandage on his hand and Kayne has for most of the time he seems to have been at CAFC.🤔

Bailey said:Some very good performances out there, just what a manager wants to see. Olaofe, Leaburn and Fullah look a threat and are linking up well and Rylah does not look out of place and wants to take his man on nearly every time. No problems with the back three and Costello, Anderson and knibbs are bossing it.0
-
Glad I went.
The first half was quality. Fullah was everywhere on the left and capped it with a neat finish.
Back 3 solid, with Gillesphey in particular showing how harsh it is that he has lost his place.
Anderson bossed the first half, getting in good tackles, demanding the ball and moving it quickly as well as playing some incisive balls forward.
Leaburn and Olaofe full of aggression and looked like a promising pairing. Olaofe' s hold up play and passing were top notch, especially the ball for Leaburn's goal. Leaburn looks reborn, he's got his pace back and won nearly everything in the air. A nice finish for his goal too.
Rankin Costello was quietly effective and looks a good option to replace either Docherty or Coventry if poor form or injury sets in (please not Coventry!).
Knibbs will be in the starting 11 sooner or later, a mix of class and industry throughout.
The second half was less assured as Stevenage came back into the game. We then ceded control after Leaburn and Olaofe went off and the ball stopped sticking up front.
Shouts of "FFS Kelman" from behind me as another aimless long ball sailed over his head. When we actually got it to his feet he showed what he's about with a nice bit of play in the corner, which led to a free-kick, and the chance that he created for himself that was deflected wide. Very early days but I can't help thinking that he'll look better alongside a more physical striker, unless we change the way we play.
Rumours of Luke Berry's demise appear to be premature.
We have to consider that the visitors are a league one side that rotated almost as much as we did but a good performance nevertheless.

Another league one or two team next round and then a big boy away please.0 -
RonnieMoore said:It was a decent performance.. pretty comfortable until Stevenage started to bring their first team players on .. and our young players started to look very tired .. but people write of Berry and that’s why he is still so important to this side .. … don’t get the high ball to Kelman and Berry and he showed what he can do with a lovely pass from Berry and Kelman unlucky not to score ..20

Anderson bossed the midfield. My MOM.6
