Daniel Kanu was freakishly prolific in scoring goals when coming through against his peers. Way more than comparable players, Patrick Casey is like that now.
The biggest adjustment is breaking into the first team, when instead of playing games against those who might have been schoolmates you find yourself in the world of Danny Hyltons., Kevin Muscats and seriously good and big guys.
That adjustment takes some doing, and it can clearly lead to more diminished returns.
The good news is that eventually the peers Daniel scored freely against will at some stage become his general peers again.
The other good news is that good senior players now, had to start out somewhere then.
It a rare thing when a good young ‘un can be simply dropped into senior level and they carry on as always. We saw a little of that when Nathan Jones gambled with Fullah at Wrexham after a wonderful half hour against West Brom.
Daniel Kanu, Micha Mbick and maybe Patrick Casey and Ruben Reid are likely to become credible senior players if managed well.
People like Trevor Francis, Rooney, Bellingham, who go on to become internationals.
As I said these are rare examples.

@fenaddick you are doing a great job keeping us all appraised regarding our players out on loan.
    Thank you.

Starts for Mbick, Kanu, Asiimwe, Taylor, A Mitchell, Ahadme, Hobden and Bower. Tommy Reid drops to the bench for Sutton and Dixon is amongst the subs for Crawley

Would have thought Asiimwe would be the most obvious candidate for a recall in January.
    Alex Mitchell?

Just looks to have so much confidence. Don't recall him in Jan and let him battle it out with DK for the Golden Boot in League 2.

He often seems to need a bit too much time to sort his feet out, which will cause him issues at a higher level, but you can't complain about his finishing.

Bower and Hobden both hooked at half time. Farnborough made 3 changes at the break so must have been a change in shape or something. They got a decent 1-1 draw though

I don’t think either Daniel or Micha should be recalled at this stage of their development.
    However.
Harsh though it would be on Walsall and Colchester, in January I would like to think there could be a fresh loan for each of them to league one. Something like Reading and Leyton Orient.
That may well be against the rules, but in my mind they are ready to face more of a challenge that a higher division would provide.

Unfortunately I think because both played in the Carabao Cup for us they can't be sent elsewhere. Will be interesting to see who ends up scoring more!

Any match reports on Dixon? I know he had glowing reviews when he first joined Crawley but seems like he's only getting sub appearances now.

Took off 2 defenders today and they still didn’t bring Mitchell on, think it’s safe to say we’ve  come to an agreement with Hibernian not to play him so we can recall him in January

Possibly they took of two defenders because they were losing and so chasing the game but I agree that we'd be better to get him back in January and reevaulate the loan.

Same could be done with DK, Mbick, Asiimwe and Dixon.

We might decide to send them back to their current loan clubs, loan them to different clubs (DK and MM could be tested in league 1) or keep them for our own needs.

Harsh on Walsall and Colchester but ultimately the club should do what is best for the club.

Kanu and Mbick can’t play for another team this season

The only reason I'd recall Mbick would be Leaburn going down with a serious injury.

I think there’s a chance we recall one or more of Assimwe, Kanu and Mbick but then send them back by the end of the month when we’ve done our own January recruitment

If Kelman isn’t back by January then I’d recall Kanu while we shop for a striker on loan for ourselves

If we are still short at wing back I’d do the same with Asiimwe

If Leaburn or Olaofe picked up an injury then I’d do the same with Mbick

I think it’s right for all 3 to play out the season at their loan clubs, but they could all be useful for a couple of games in January if we’re still struggling for numbers

I think Kanu and Mbick have shown more than our current fit strikers so far this season.

    More pace, more goals.

Do I think they're ready for Championship football? No idea.

Do I think they need a loan that is more challenging in League 1? Maybe next season if we feel they're not ready to skip a level.

I have a sneaky suspicion they'll both get their chance.

Been thinking about this and it makes me really uncomfortable. How would we have felt if we lost Josh Cullen for a month? Or Bielik? We wouldn't have known how to recruit. And what happens if they don't want them back? Or the striker Colchester get in is better than Mbick and he's stuck here for 6 months getting a few minutes off the bench?

Some will say that's just the loan market and you have to play the game etc. but for me you can't moan about the loan market, having Gallagher recalled etc. and also think we should recall Kanu and Mbick

Not against recalling Mbick, Kanu or Asiimwe but personally think it can’t be just for a month it just isn’t enough time to be beneficial for both clubs and the player it has to be leave them there or permanently bring them back. We’ve had a month of knowing what we need so ideally the recruitment should hopefully move quite quick in January and have some stuff lined up already.

I think we should leave them both where they are to develop, as League 2 is a world apart in quality to the Championship.

We need to sign/buy some proven Championship quality in January, youths performing at League 2 level aren't going to save us I imagine, harsh reality.
