Thought this would be tough when the fixture list came out.  Not so sure, now.

Just saw this, hopefully positive for us.

Oh to be a fan base that doesn’t rate a player that’s apparently worth £32m !!!! That’s more than our squad I would think
    not even Ramsays left leg!

Potential we are coming down to earth with a bump on Saturday coming up against a recent Premier League team. However, all the signs are they haven't started well and often catching these teams at this time of the season can be advantageous. We're full of confidence and riding our momentum from last year whereas they are desperately trying to refind some confidence and build momentum. If they underestimate us I think we could send them away with a bloody nose. If their first two games have given them a kick up the arse and they come into this motivated to and determined to fix that, then maybe we will get a lesson in how tough this division can be. It's a fascinating game but represents a decent opportunity for us.

2-1 Addicks. Fast start from us and Kelman scores first half, then they pen us in a bit. We bring on our finishers and Leaburn or Knibbs bags one on the break assisted by Tanto. Then they score and it's backs against the wall until the final whistle. Kaminski to make at least one worldy save to earn us the three points.

Thanks so much. Hardly worth watching now I know what is going to happen. You might at least have had the decency to head your post with a large SPOILER warning for us ordinary mortals who are not gifted with second sight.  :s

I know they haven’t been great but let’s not forget they have been a premiership team more often than not the last few years whereas we have been league one ! They will click eventually let’s hope it’s not this week.

    happy with another draw here
Agree, apart from the fact it is the Premiere League! But your concerns are valid, they still have a nucleus of top tier players, however still struggling with the rigours of the Championship. It is an interesting conundrum, heard in many pub discussions, how is the mindset of the players, do they still think they are better than the majority of Championship players, and consequently don't put in the required effort to match second tier teams, or is it the hunger of the players and management in the league below to put one over the relegated teams with parachute payments.
In the end it comes down to fine margins, the start we have had, home support and advantage, the managieral nouse of Nathan.
I'm going for a close game, 0-0 again or a close 1-0 win for the Addicks.

If you're going to make a prediction, do it properly! And knowing what is going to happen doesn't put people off watching porn, and this will be every bit as exciting so I would still watch if I was you!

Another clean sheet????? Someone has to score against us at some point lol

which is why I’m going for a draw 1-1 as we aren’t firing in attack yet to score 2 I don’t think given the opposition

I want revenge for the 5-0 home defeat that we suffered in 1970. Nothing else matters

Can we wheel Yann out of retirement for a one-off? He was always particularly special vs Leicester.

We have so far played against 2 established championship sides who would have expected to beat us.They did not and to be fair never looked likely to.We have nothing ti fear in this division,we will get stronger and more confident with every game.Of course we will lose games, but I dont think it will be this week,2-0 to us.

It seems really toxic there at the moment. Great time to be playing them. Saw their fans complaining about players walking straight off the pitch after their away defeat to Preston. They're on the players and manager's backs.

Fancy a win this weekend - maybe 2-0 to us. Another clean sheet, Kelman and Leaburn.

Subject of a £28m bid from Sunderland, so may have his sights elsewhere, which would be handy..

This is why it’s the perfect time to play them, still getting used to winning, half the squad want to go or can’t be bothered and the rest are young and inexperienced so should hopefully be able to be shepherded by our excellent defence
  • I can't call this. Every game is an intriguing test of our newly upgraded squad.

On another note - why do we all follow the Charlton to Leicester in particular, as well as over land and sea?

Fatawu also had a fall out with fans after he called some of them out for not backing them following Preston on Insta. In terms of teams on paper Leicester could easily pump us 4-0. But based where both clubs are in terms of environment we have every chance of coming away from this game as a win but would definitely take a draw.

1-0 to us. Zach Mitchell comes on and scores with the last header of the game.

Great time to be playing a team like Leicester, loads of players will be trying to get out of the club before the end of August, and may be 'playing a little less than full capacity'. The likes of Winks, Faes, Madivi, Fatawa and even James Justin won't want to be hanging around in the Championship with a WC at the end of the season (not including Winks and Justin in this scenario obviously). Once the window is closed I expect them to settle down, and stabilise, but these next ten days will doubtless see a lot of movement through the 'Out Door', and not many coming the other way.

This should be a very interesting game and, I suspect, a pretty good time to play Leicester. Their form thus far has been unimpressive and as well as having to recover from a post-relegation hangover and adjust to the Championship, it will take their new manager, Cifuentes, some time to get his ideas across and win the confidence and trust of the players. The proximity to the transfer deadline won't hurt either, with El Khannouss said to be in talks with Palace and their captain, Justin, linked with a move to Leeds. There may well be other players in the camp who want out, which can only undermine morale and the level of performance on the field.

Leicester clearly have some talented players, including our old loanee Mavididi, although I see that he was hooked early in the second half last Saturday at Preston. Cifuentes complained after that match that his team failed to cope with the long balls in behind and that his players failed to track opposition runners. He may get a positive reaction on Saturday but let's hope for more of the same. If they show a soft underbelly on Saturday, you'd expect us to exploit it, given our formidable home record and the drive, determination and moments of quality that Nathan's team have demonstrated so far.

Like @_MrDick, I want revenge for that 5-0 defeat back in 1970, although I'm sure that Josh Edwards will fare very much better than a totally out of position Mike Kenning did that day. I think it was 0-4 at half-time and my discontent was compounded by the fact that Peter Shilton (and he alone) refused to sign any of the waiting kids' autograph books after the game. I also remember Leicester tonking us 4-1 at The Valley in 1981, with a young Gary Lineker helping himself to a brace. On the other hand, I recall us beating them in the League Cup in 1971 when they were a decent First Division side, whilst no one will forget Shaun Bartlett's goal of the season in 2001.

Leicester have sold out their allocation for The Jimmy Seed Stand and it should be another cracking atmosphere on Saturday.
