Got more and more nervous as the weeks gone on. Was pretty confident we could get something last week now even with the news they've got a few out I'm getting less and less confident.

    1-1
Dont fall for it mate... both Leicester and QPR fans were convinced that we'd roll them over, given the state of their results prior to facing us, and we lost both matches.

Its like the Championship is turning into this meme with us!!

  • Been going since 1969, on,y time I have seen a win was the 3-1 at the Den friendly when ft boy Hasselbank scored.  Been to  a few games at the Old Den, 2-0 up minutes to go, Gordon Watson a scorer, 2-2. Missed the win in the snow, I think it was te night my mum had a stroke that  ended up fatal, sen a couple at the Den includig 4-0 and held in for ages after and of course a few at The Valley when there was a 29,000 crowd .. when Possee scored it looked like 28,999 were Millwall.  Not forgetting the referee not believing their keeper just dropped the ball so our goal was struck off, did not Aneke have a legitimate goal chalked off in the championship year?  One year we will beat them and as Curbs would say, why not this one

Something about Jones makes me feel he will get us a draw.

However, first Millwall game I won't be in ground for since '96, so knowing my luck, we win again without me.

Thankfully, game is live on Thai tv with Sky Sports commentary, and looking forward to watching a game with @stonemuse for the first time this season.
My first Charlton viewing in Bangkok!
    holiday? love Thailand...

They could put their U18s out and have an outfield player in goal and they'd still get a result.

Surely it's got to end one day.....
  • I do not envisage any problems, 0-3 to the Spanners...

A draw is an achievement? No thanks 3-0 Addicks!

Like all of us I'll take any victory, but it would be fantastic if we could roll them over easily, an early lead and dominate from start to finish.
The drop side is two fold, losing to them but also another defeat and put us nearer to the bottom three.

Cant be worrying about the League table etc. after five games

Really believed that we'd do it when Bow was in charge, it never quite happened but with Jones you know he'd absolutely love knowing he was the manager that broke that record, despite us only playing them 12 times in 29 years, it's still a record we want to break.

I think there is likely to be a couple of changes, as much as NJ likes him and he is so important to how we play even though many either can't see it or don't see it, I think it'll be tough for TC to stay in the team after the travel with Jamaica. He went from England to Jamaica, to Bermuda, back to Jamaica and now is back in England, all whilst starting two games. It's a lot.

There must be someone who has not played much/started that comes in after really impressing the last couple of weeks.

With another big crowd, with the motivation of breaking the record, with the need of getting back to winning ways, and all with NJ in charge, I am falling into the trap where I genuinely feel we will do it on Saturday.

Someone is going to be a hero, I just don't know who yet.
  • I have every confidence we’ll put in a
performance similar to the Leicester performance. Just need to take those chances. Be brave Charlton, be brave. It’s gonna be a cracker … UTA

Be nice if Kaminski made a difference in a positive way.
If I were Jones going into this match I would double down on the absolute requirement to keep a clean sheet, and hope that something turns up at the other end.
You make it sound like he hasn't made a difference yet this season, think that's harsh.
To be fair to him (and his defence), we have 2 cleans sheets from 4 games so far, and no one can blame him for the non-clean sheet versus Leicester. Everyone had a bad day at the office against QPR.
I suppose I think a goalkeeper making a difference means to me that you can point to something specific they have done that means the game was a success.
I am struggling to think of a Kaminski specific so far this season.
He needs to pull off a save like the Leicester keeper did.

    Tomorrow  ??

Are we playing Friday night then ??

(See, this is what happens when the preview thread is put up too early. Friday lunchtime is ideal. Any earlier & people forget what day it the week it is).

He’s barely had anything to do in 3 of the 4 games so far tbf. I’d rather he didn’t have to make a difference and we get another comfortable game where we barely concede any good chances
  • 0-0 I reckon.
Looking at Saturdays fixtures there seems to be a lot of London clubs fans in the city.
    Might just be a coincidence.
  • Big fat 0-0 and the hex continues.
  • I won't be there which gives us a chance. I saw us beat them back in the mid 90s home and away. Feel very old.

    I reckon a draw unfortunately.

If I didn't have a F/T job to worry about, and a seven year old Son to look after on my own a lot of the time, as my wife works 10-hour days... Along with everything else I like to get up to... I'd be a bit more rigid with writing Previews. Instead I do them when I can
Pathetic mate.  Your previews should be delivered in line with Golfie’s needs
  • Scoring a goal at home against this lot would be a start considering it’s 5 home games now with Charlton Nil on the vidiprinter

2009 the 4-4 draw the last time we scored
  • Jones is the only manager I have believed could get us a result, after the last few games however, the doubt has crept in.

I don't think we have enough goals in us to win. They're better away from home so far, they'll be full of confidence, and I can't see us keeping a clean sheet. They'll get at least one, so we are gonna need 2 or 3 goals I would say to get 3 points, just don't see it at all.

Hoping for 1 nil win, but I would say the smarter money is a score draw or narrow Millwall win.
