Emergency escape route. Doubt you are allowed to lock it.
The spanners did at the rusty toolbox in the 4-0 game. The OB even said they couldn’t find the keys.

Bloke who is clearly not about all that in glasses holding his hands up to show he's not interested gets a clump.  If that's what their lot are about these days deary me.  Breaking into a stand housed by mainly scarfer types and clearly significantly outnumbering those who are up for it.

Puts to bed all that bollocks about bullshit romanticised honour and code and nonsense that gets rolled out in the hoolie wanksfest films.  Get up to the woods with like minded people, pay a subsidy to the NHS to sort you out afterwards or go to a boxing club and leave the rest of us to get on with the game ffs.

    Tragic, inadequate people.  Bullies

It's on this thread as well. Doesn't really change anything to what Rodney has posted.
A couple of Charlton idiots who either ran or the Millwall lot didn't get to them doesn't mean it's alright to start on whoever next is available

  • That needs to be sent to the police. Assaulted a person trying to defuse the situation who clearly is of no threat.

The reds the other side of the gate in that video need banning too.

I expect Millwallfan to hold his hands up and admit to being sadly wrong about today. No need to give him grief over this.
  • They are utter scum

However, personally, my Dad’s ashes are in The Valley Memorial Garden - if those arseholes trashed the garden today

    Well……..

As for the gate being unlocked - ridiculous - ok, safety (fire etc) - simply put someone there with a key for the padlock for the whole match - but the fact that a scumbag bunch of ‘supporters’ could so easily breach a divide between home and away fans so easily - disgusting - Curb’s stand has a lot of families in it, incl young children

Huge questions about how CAFC have managed today - and The Met

Millwall really are the most appalling football ‘supporters’ in the world - just disgusting awful people - and their favourite chant sums them up - yes NO ONE likes them - and for so many reasons

So proud my late Dad gave me no choice - Charlton Athletic 😍

Not really.  You can see in the videos in terms of numbers there's a world of difference and can't see anything the bloke in glasses did in the video to warrant it.  As per AFKA's pictures above showing top of the stairs....dads, oaps and some young teenagers in the main....hardly hardened stone island types.

How do you go home and look at your missus and kids and think this is the mark i've left on the world....hit a couple of blokes at football in a baying mob like a pack of hyenas and am a bit of a geezer....that's your legacy and contribution and validation as a "man". And blokes in their 40s, 50s and upwards doing it.

    Tragic.

If there was nobody giving it the big 'Un the spanners would have almost certainly carried on grunting among themselves.

Padlocking it breaks safety rules, same for fire exits. A single steward was holding it shut and had his hand kicked by a Charlton fan. 😒

  • I'm keen to hear the thoughts of our mate @MillwallFan :)
He will say it never happened, all the scum are good boys any trouble was West Ham. He is a prick who pretends to be all matey.
No, that is harsh and uncalled for.
He has said previously of Charlton connections and a liking of us.
I still think he should banned from here for a month as from today :)
He does defend Millwall muggy behaviour constantly though

Jeez. Glad we went back to the Fanzone where all was peaceful. These photos remind me of being a teenager and going to a pre season 0-0 friendly at the Den where I witnessed our fans getting jumped on and thumped as they walked out. Effing morons and scum. How things have not changed in best part of 50 years.

Well that went to plan, just two stewards on the gate between Jimmy Seed stand and East Stand. Punches thrown between the fence, stuff thrown by both fans. Then Millwall fans forced the gate and a few fights broke up going up the steps. One Charlton fan shouted "this is a family stand". All the planning, where were stewards and police on this section of the stadium to stop this flash point.
All too busy arguing with people in wheelchairs and on crutches that they need to go the long way or wait half an hour for them to reopen Floyd Road!
Question. Why were you there to witness that and not walk down Harvey Gardens as requested? I exited the West Stand and it was clear you couldn’t use the normal gate by the shop.

Lets face it many deliberately went the wrong’ way and of course some didn’t know because of the poor comms by the club.
What are you interrogating him for? He said that he was in a Costa with his parents having a coffee and witnessed it from there.

It’s the most senior police officer responsible for this shambles you should be interrogating. I won’t get my hopes up for that, of course.
I was referring to the confrontation mentioned at Ransom Walk.

I’m not defending the police decision at all.

But from what I saw a number of fans did go that way even though they should not and had no reason to (whereas Sam did) and which doesn’t help.

Likewise the idiots in the East Stand rucking with the Millwall fan and bating the JS stand throughout the game. It doesn’t help when we have those exacerbating the situation.

The question I think we should know the answer to is when the club knew of the decision in light of the late notice to fans.
I was told by a good source today that it was last minute. And it can be verified eventually with an FOI request.

But that is not the question. If it had been decided and released to the public two weeks ago, it would still have been a monumentally stupid and offensive decision, and the pond-life would still have broken down the Lansdowne Mews gates to cause trouble in the one area that plod in their stupidity thought there was no need to cover (I exited that way). So the question is why did the senior police officer who made this decision, do so? What was his rationale for it? How does he explain it given that it virtually never happens this way at any other ground? And why were there no police around Lansdowne Mews?

They are at Palace on Wednesday. I am very curious as to how that police unit handles them.
So that actually makes me more curious.

If last minute what happened to make that a needed decision? What changed in the week to make that a necessity ? I can’t immediately think of a reason.

Lansdowne Mews I’d hazard a guess  is just a cock up in that no one thought of that happening as we never see away fans trying to leave that way.
My understanding is that the Club had tabled sensible proposals, you know, the sort of stuff that most people on here( and any other EFL fanbase for that matter) would expect, and plod kept finding issues with them, finally imposing their own dumb proposal on the Club Thurs or even yesterday ( I am not sure which, but one of the two). I understand that Mick Everitt was involved but all his sensible ideas based on years of experience were overruled.

So wth that short notice, the Club would have been very hard pressed to get the news out to all fans.
It wasn't even a story on the website. It was tucked away at the bottom of the pre-match thread. How difficult is it to draft one email and click send to season ticket holders?

Fair enough but this is Millwall we are playing and it seems no one had the common sense to man it with a few old bill. Someone at the club has to be held responsible for this. Innocent Charlton fans should not be getting attacked in our own ground.

For balance our couple of idiot fans goading them through the gate should be banned for life.

Are you on a wind up? You have to go to the bottom of the area to go up the stairs.

Put your phone away and go and have a beer and samba on the beach or something
Well in that case I am wrong.  I thought you walked along the concourse and turned left.

The blokes giving it the big un behind closed gates should have accepted what they generated. Not the poor fucker who didn’t want to know.
That little group who encouraged it should have remained and dealt with what they sparked, not run and left an innocent bloke to come second.
No rights or wrongs, but the small Charlton group enticed that.
    Oh do fuck off mate.

How the hell do you know who started it?

Tell you what, what's more likely? The Charlton fans walking that way because that's the exit from that stand, or the Millwall fans who have walked in completely the opposite direction from their own exit? What reason do you think they might've done that for?

I'll leave you to have a little think about that.

Was that gate meant to be used by anyone (home / or away fans) for today's game?
