Jerome Thomas cross to Bent, properly whipped and curled it perfectly into his head, and we won 1-0, can't remember the opposition though.

JBG tackling a player about 40 yards out, retaining the ball and hammering it into the net, absolutely sublime.

Kermorgant delightful chip, might have been last game of the season?

Best goal I've seen scored against us was RVP Volley, similar technique to Bree last night, probably shinned it, but it absolutely flew into the top corner
    Bent was against Man City

Ricky Holmes away at Oldham was special, then again he scored quite a few special goals for us.

And there's the winner. From our own dead ball line, to the goal, without a Hull player touching it...

Rewatching that Dale Stephens goal, I forgot how causally he hits that strike

    Steve Brown Vs Bradford

Ahmed Kashi Vs Peterborough in the cup

Dale Stephens also scored a banger against Doncaster.

Team goals in struggling to think of one anywhere near....maybe Conor Gallagher Vs Fulham when Forster caskey whipped the ball, solly headed it back and it dropped to Gallagher
  • Shaun Bartlett diving header v Spurs was a pretty good team goal if I remember correctly.

There was a goal Derek Hales scored against Walsall in the 74/75 season that was my favourite for many years. It was from a cross from the right and he seemed to slide and scoop it up past the keeper. I like that one as its just lodged in my mind for many years. For sheer beauty Claus at Highbury was the best.

Bree's goal wasn't even that best we've scored against Derby.

    Danny Haynes has that title.
A fantastic goal but Danny Green's one in 12/13 when he hit it so hard and from so far out the camera didn't even pick it up in time might be in with a shout there too

Another "Struggling Charlton", we should be renamed to that instead of Charlton Athletic

Lyle Taylor's goal in the home game against Forest in 19/20 as well. It wasn't an incredible finish but there were 22 passes in the buildup during what for me is still the best 45 minutes from a Charlton side outside of the Premier League days

The Bree goal was special as we don't score that sort of intricate team goal. That's the sort of goal that Pep teams or Wenger's Arsenal score.

Smacking the ball in from 30 yards is far more common.  Someone in non league will do that this weekend.

Overhead kicks like Johansson used to specialise in are rare.  Have we scored any since the PL years?

I said on the night it was a great team goal as 6 players were involved including Kaminski and  Derby didn't touch the ball at any stage.

Lots of good individual strikes over the years including Sonny Carey against Blackburn but that really was unusual as from Kelman onwards every pass was accurate which doesn't normally happen with Charlton!

James Bree scored two goals in his career of around 300 apps in League matches and now has 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 apps for CAFC including the cracker on Tuesday.
The Saints will want the 27 year old back at this rate !

Colin Walsh scored a few specials as well
    Morts against Leeds
This. Took me a while to start celebrating as I couldn't quite comprehend what I'd just seen
I was down the front in that corner they used to give you, I can still picture it now. Normally you'd question the keeper, but it was hit so hard it made Careys superb effort last week look like a tap-in.

Ray Tracey 30 yarder at Smellhurst Park FA Cup 1969 Replay, night game.
    We won 2-0.
I swear if there hadn’t have been a net, the ball would have ended up back at The Valley.

Claus Jenson, at home against Man United, barthez was in goal, curled it round him from distance. Thinking back he had so many, lovely player.

Jensen's chip from an acute angle when we scored 4 at Highbury.

RVP should have been sent off before he scored so that doesn't count.

The best bit of Bree's goal was the pass to him by Docherty(?).

Two stand out in the memory, the one v Chelsea when we won 3-0, started the season so well but got relegated, and when he weaved through three or four players in a 4-0 or 4-1 win early on in the season we won the Championship.  Similar to this one against Norwich https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZCTbYWVVxM but he hit it better at the end.
  • Colin Powell's thunderbolt at Selhurst v Palarse is right up there.
Bree's goal was a brilliant move, but it looked to me that it came off his shin rather than foot, so not quite perfect.
