Andy Roberts was also a customer of mine, he was a good lad, we had a laugh when I told him who I supported, he's not too keen on Charlton :D
Used to knock about with him and Kieth Stevens. Not seen either for years after Rhino moved to Oz

Of that era, out here in Brazil I am friends with the son of Paul Manning who was in the same squad as the pair of them.

Don't get caught on camera sniffing Kate Hudson's seat while she pops to the lav.
I worked in her house once near Regents Park BTW.

    How did the Baftas go?
Who did you fill in for?
    Any gossip?

Robbie Coltrane stood on my foot at a party (ouch!).

Got introduced to Pat Nevin at a Bluebells gig at Electric Ballroom, Camden. He shared his flat with Adrian Thrills, a writer at NME that I worked with.

I saw Bananarama's first ever live gig  (supporting Department S); years later, I met Sarah Dalin at a party and mentioned it to her and we chatted about it (I was a bit squiffed).  In error I said that they mimed but she corrected me to say the music was the backing track and they were really singing. She was right of course!

I was present when Julie Burchill first met Tony Parsons (in The Britannia pub, Hammersmith, now long gone), and spent the rest of the evening together with them, sharing a cab back to central London after the Patti Smith gig; six months later they got married.

I got stuck in a lift with ex-England cricketer Graham Dilley.  He was claustrophobic and after a couple of minutes forced open the doors with his bare hands!

I saved Chris Dean (of The Redskins) from being beaten up by fascist skinheads at Charing Cross station.

I once shook hands with the prime minister of Guyana.

I have played football against Madness, The Jam, Style Council, and Motorhead. Oh, and Andrew Ridgley (who I had great fun in fouling!).

    Enjoyed it

I was what they call a passive, sat in seats behind the cameras for the wider shot.

Tenuous link to fame, whilst waiting to get to the urinals in the toilet, Aidan Gillen was having a fight/interaction with the hand dryer and blocking my path, then he sat down right to next us in the communal sofas in the lobby outside.

If you watched it, there was a 2 hour delay to TV, they did come out and say before the awards started that there was someone with Tourette’s etc in the audience and to be aware. Until that point we heard some shouting and assumed it was a protest, but he definitely shouted the N word when Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo were on stage, why they didn’t bleep it considering the 2 hour delay is anybody’s guess.
For context he was the inspiration for the film I Swear that won best actor.
We believe he recused himself later on as we didn’t hear anymore as the show went on. Hopefully they didn’t remove him as they made a big announcement as to how it was involuntary and asked everyone to understand and not be offended.

My mate, who has a much better memory than I do says that I was friends with a girl called Susan who used to hang around the Bromley area and was a regular at pubs such as the Apples and Pears off the Old Kent Road.  He said she was always a bit of a trend-setter regarding music and fashion. I have no recollection of her at all, so perhaps this doesn't count. Anyway, you would know her as Siouxie Sioux.

Name the future Charlton midfielder in that picture (without referring to the names on the right!).

You can show them that paper cutting now.
Looking at that photo - I’d guess it’s early to mid 1960’s.

She lived on Westhurst Drive, in Chislehurst, and was best friends with my next-doors neighbours granddaughter.
