Might be that we want to try and finalise A. Mitchell permanent exit first, one out one in etc.

Apologies if this has already been shared here but NTT20 absolutely scathing about Coady:

There is no question that Coady is a good man and a leader, which Nathan Jones will see as a positive. But Charlton need to find a way to stop conceding goals, so it’s a bold move to sign a centre-back whose best attribute has always been his passing range, and who has looked suspect defensively for a few seasons now.

Coady really has to play in the middle of a back three to compensate for his lack of pace and defensive solidity, but that’s where Lloyd Jones plays, and he’s one of the few Charlton players who absolutely should not be replaced. Despite reportedly costing Wrexham a fortune in wages, and a transfer fee to boot, Coady was bombed out by Phil Parkinson in September and hasn’t played a minute since October, after looking well short of what was needed. We predicted as much when Wrexham signed him last summer.

He’s still only 32, yet it’s hard to have faith that Coady is ready to play at a level that will oust Charlton’s best defender and satisfy his demanding manager. It may soon become apparent that he won’t be keeping up with the Joneses.

I think that's interesting. I don't think Coady is here to be a part of our best defense. I think he's here for leadership. I think if Lloyd Jones gets hurt we might see Coady, we might see Burke in the middle and Kayne on the right. But yeah I think he's here largely in the mascot role.

He could end up player manager before the season is out!
  • Could Collins be a CDM?

This article supposedly even has a quote from the player!

“I want to challenge myself in the Championship. It’s a demanding league, and I believe I can make an impact here,” Sichenje said.

This has got to be one of the more interesting transfers we've had for a few years. Got to be one we've found through analytics that fits the profile we want at RCB and think the value is there that we can develop him.
Really is intriguing if it happens.

Feels like a massive upside type deal this, if he’s good, you can see him going pretty high, and us making the money back and some. If he’s meh, well, got to gamble sometimes

Will be interesting to see if he's in the squad for Vojvodinas first game after the winter break on Sunday. I would assume not.

Because he wants good players and his team to avoid relegation?

No middle ground with this one.

I'm predicting that he's either going to be total shit or he'll become a cult hero.
    Survey time;

Pessimists, total shite -> like; cult hero -> lol
Optimists, total shite -> lol; cult here -> like
    Additional survey:

    A) creating a poll that requires respondents to click the survey post’s like or lol button is an efficient and quick way to get a gauge on sentiment about a specific matter (Click ‘like’)

B ) creating a poll that requires respondents to click the survey post’s like or lol button is a deliberate misuse of forum infrastructure and is excruciatingly gauche (click ‘lol’)

Not exactly, but my wife's cousin is friends with Collins' girlfriend's hair stylist. He told her he was keen to move to Charlton because he knows we are Millwall's feeder club. He is a fanatical Millwall fan. He hopes if he does well here he will get promoted to the Millwall squad after 18 months. Also he will only sign for us if he is made captain and can take all corners, penalties and free-kicks. And he wants to play outside right because he will not need to head the ball as much. Heading can cause brain damage later in life.

Funny that we've not spent a penny in this window (except for a 3rd choice keeper and that was minimal) and have relied on loans, one from a lower League team and one a supposedly "legs have gone" defender......but are prepared to pay c£1.5m on an unknown player who's not played at all in England.

    Something doesn't smell right.

The issue with making a deal is that everything has to be done by 1pm so they can be registered for the next day. After that you might as well do the deal Sunday/Monday as some key staff might be travelling for away games

Imodium not much use if you want a movement. Very useful if you don’t.

Someone like, I dunno, Kaine Kesler-Hayden cost something like £3.5m didn't he? If we are taking punts for (maybe less than) half that price, I don't think it's abnormal. We HAVE to take shots like this and the fees we paid in the summer - i.e. we are not Birmingham so no 7m on Furuhashi or whatever - cos we do not have the money and revenue to sustain losses much bigger according to the financial rules.
