Macca was the one that put the ball onto Dykes’ Head for the goal? He was much better than Bree, Ramsay & Clarke for me yesterdaySteven81 said:
Totally he was a disgrace today all the time in the world against 9 men and he decided to pump the ball In the box every 2 mins instead of just going forward don't get me wrong it might have worked sometimes but fuck me bell would have brought the ball forward. He wasn't the only guilty one but there's no way he should be starting for us in the championship barring a complete injury crisis.sam3110 said:
If Bell is out for 6 weeks, we absolutely need another LCB, who would you play there if Macca gets an injury or suspended?Crispywood said:
We won’t bring in another LCB can only justify it if we were to sell Macca and I don’t think a lot of clubs are lining up for him at present. We have Berry Fullah Carey who can play in the 10 so there’s not a dire need to replace Knibbs especially since that was only his 5th start today.sam3110 said:If Knibbs is out for a while we need another body in there, many of us wanted someone in there anyway.
LWB has to be the number 1 priority still, yet another square peg in a round hole today in Bree, that's him, Ramsay, Campbell, Bell, Hernandez, Fullah and Apter all played there this season already whilst we're missing Edwards, and Rousillon signed for there too, and it's blindingly obvious how much it hinders us.
Without Bree we need another right sided player too, Burke and Ramsay at RCB, Clarke and AN.Other at RWB, or we move Ramsay out to RWB and bring in a new RCB (probably my preference right now given how poor Ramsay has been recently) with Gough, maybe a returning Z.Mitchell, and Apter as the emergency cover.
LCB is then a bit of a luxury I guess, but unless Bell is back by next weekend (and no-one knows how long it will be til the next injury, but it probably won't be far away) then I really think we need to sign one.
So that's 4 more signings potentially, unless we're happy with Carey and Berry being the only 10s we have in the squad for a while
we will need a massive overhaul in the summer binning off the likes of Karoy Doc Macca etc and replacing them with better plays but for where we are now 2 wingbacks is the must13 -
Agree, thought Gillesphey did alright yesterday, especially with a poor Bree in front of him0

We've had 2 months to source a LWB and still havent signed anyone. What makes you think we'll sign 4 players in 2 weeks. And those 4 players being fit & good enough to play 90 mins from day 1.
There are so many factors to signing players especially in January, which make it extremely difficult.
But constantly repeating the point is just boring.
This is why I hate the January window , fees go through the roof this month for anyone that's fit and playing regularly, loan recalls can absolutely butcher a season and it's all a waiting game to get deals done.
I'm sure Jones and Chapple are working day and night to get the right players across the line but I'm sure any LWB targets have plenty of clubs after them as it's become such a key position for a lot of clubs.0 -
I didn't think Gillie was bad yesterday but Chris Wider definitely pointed out that we were weak down that side and could be got at, in terms of being better than the three mentioned, Bree was played on the left out of position and the other two were coming back from injuries and looked like it.Pelling1993 said:

Jones said Bell wasn’t too bad, also you could say that for every position you can’t have 3 players per position otherwise you end up with 33 players and Jones said in the past he likes a 25 man squad w 3 keepers.sam3110 said:

TC not so much, especially if sitting down.4 -
Utter drivel and nonsense yet again and what a surprise it's been published on FLW, the home of drivel and nonsensegringo said:Talking of rumours how about this:-

Golfie, I get your point about awareness of the LWB situation but there may be a little more to it than we think or see. Take the Bree situation, for example, we definitely wanted to keep him but Saints had a change of manager and he wants him back, hence we sign Clark, what I am saying is that we can only sign players who are made available by their clubs, it's ok having a wish list in December but you end up tearing that list up if the players on it are not available. If someone fancied taking Gillisphey either on loan or a permanent, would we let him go ? No, even though with Bell and Edwards fit he wouldn't start. It's the same for every club Golfie and you have rightly said that if we sign someone there must be a criteria met, Fit, used to playing at this level and better than what we've got, easier said than done.golfaddick said:

This is one of those be careful what you wish for scenarios. TC is our only wide outlet with pace, for all his weaknesses he’s played an important part in keeping us out of the bottom 3 so far.
Leaburn’s improved recently and there’s plenty more to come from him at this level.
If they leave it won’t be to a lower level. They’re both 22 and in their first season at this level, too early to say they can’t improve.7 -
Maybe a Prem youngster in on a loan until Edwards is back.Bailey said:

Leaburn’s performances since Oxford and the fact he’s been consistent in that time gives hope he will be able to step up. TC despite the fact he doesn’t look like he’s improving we saw yesterday we have no threat or dangerous flair players without him ongringo said:Talking of rumours how about this:-

The usual FLW drivel. £2m for both is absolutely ridiculous behaviour.4

The problem with regard to Zach Mitchell is because he has not been getting game time with his loan.
I don’t believe he should be written off as no good, especially combined with disparaging remarks about the level of Scottish football.Josh Edward’s was signed from Scottish football and he is a good player.
As it stands making any definitive assessment of Zach Mitchell would be tricky as he has been very badly served by loans, with the exception of St Johnstone.1 -
I can’t imagine we will see any in before Millwall now, more or less the same team will start on Tuesday with the exception of Bree and Anderson.Would like to think that the lb is in the building Wednesday or Thursday at the latest1
-
Wondering if we might see some proper cover for Cov come in? The Anderson experiment didn't work and I can't see Gough being used there even if he's played there for the U21s.0
-
I don't think Knibbs will be allowed to play Tuesday with his surgical boot on.AberystwythAddick said:I can’t imagine we will see any in before Millwall now, more or less the same team will start on Tuesday with the exception of Bree and Anderson.Would like to think that the lb is in the building Wednesday or Thursday at the latest9 -
I think a loan wouldn’t be as bad as Anderson at least bringing in a proper No.6 I’d bring Sam Field in for 6 months0
-
As far as ex players go that isn't a bad shout. Only had 800 or so minutes this season. Signed a new contract in the summer but no mention of lengthCrispywood said:I think a loan wouldn’t be as bad as Anderson at least bringing in a proper No.6 I’d bring Sam Field in for 6 months0 -
Yeah I was only thinking a loan deal as opposed to signing someone on a permanent. But obviously it would probably be someone that's not overly experienced.fenaddick said:
Budget wise could probably only be a loan though which is a riskMarcusH26 said:Wondering if we might see some proper cover for Cov come in? The Anderson experiment didn't work and I can't see Gough being used there even if he's played there for the U21s.0 -
If we are going to stay in this league we need midfielders that are good for this league as currently none we are , the LWB can be filled with what we have .2

Is Mannion left footed?8
