I can see him as the next to inherit the Souley Diawara/Naby Sarr mantle, an absolute unit who has fondness for long range passing and occasional moments of absolute madness in equal measure.Chris_from_Sidcup said:No middle ground with this one.
I'm predicting that he's either going to be total shit or he'll become a cult hero.6 -

I love Macca, but any time he gets in a one-on-one situation in this league, he's toast. We can't expect a wingback to always be standing next to him. We need someone who can hold their own.Bailey said:
Sorry to Labour the point Yann, but Gillesphey is fine as long as there is a wing back with pace and experience in front of him. Both the left or right centre back, work in tandem with the wing back and having right footers or people who are alien to the wing back position is a disaster.YannTheMann said:I wonder if maybe we're looking at Ramsay at LCB until end of season if we cant get a left footer in or if Bell is close, plz no more Macca I can't take it4 -
Macca’s version of one on one is staying 10 yards away and slowly backing off and hoping the striker doesn’t realise he isn’t going to close him down any time soon.Chunes said:

Yeh we’re not remotely stacked. Lloyd Jones is the only one who can be relied upon to stay fit. Half of them aren’t good enough either.sam3110 said:I imagine with Collins its a case of get him in before anyone else does and hope he's good and develops.
I get the people saying we're already stacked in his position, but both Mitchells are unfancied at this level, Burke can't stay fit, Jones is seemingly half broken every game right now, Ramsay has 18 months on his contract and is a saleable asset, and Clarke and Coady aren't our players, so suddenly we could be in a position in the summer where we only have a couple of options for RCB and CB.
If he comes in and hits the ground running, we might have a real gem on our hands, and any signing in this division under £2m is seen as a pretty cheap punt, so it's worth the risk IMO3 -
Would Collins get a work permit ?0

You mean like don't play him on the sabbath lest a demon smote him?Slimeworth_McTavish said:Should Collins sign, is there a lore reason why he couldn't play as LCB?

It's all relative. Compared to other areas of the pitch I would say we are well stocked with right footed defenders who can play as RCB. I'm not saying that we can't improve the position, I just think the money could be spent fixing more pressing problems elsewhere and I don't know if he is the type of player I'd be spending my money on given our situation. The Red Robin said:

We only have Bell and Macca as conventional LCBs and one inexperienced left footed wing back with an injury history. We now have cover at LWB in the form of a left footed attacking winger and Clarke. Perhaps this is enough.
We have six senior midfielders for three spots: Coventry, JRC, Carey, Karoy, Docherty and Berry. Docherty appears likely to leave and I don't know if many believe Karoy is at the level required. Berry too. Perhaps you can include Fullah to bolster numbers.
Those are the two positions I would've spent the money on. It is funny to me that in this context £2m is a cheap punt but some would have you believe that money on Apter was a King's ransom! I agree £2m isn't very much for the league, but it is for us. Definitely an exciting signing, and here's hoping he is brilliant and we still have some money to spend elsewhere.

To be honest, I'm not sure whether I care that much at the moment about the summer. Making the right signings now so that we finish 4th bottom rather than 3rd bottom is all that matters.sam3110 said:I imagine with Collins its a case of get him in before anyone else does and hope he's good and develops.

If we go down, the likes of Zach Mitchell, Gough, Laq etc would be far more likely to play. Indeed they would expect to get minutes.9 -

LWB cover with TC - I take it. Injury potential young lwb loanee & Bell still injured leaving Gillesephy at LCB. This would be the set up where we got hammered 4-0 at Millwall and haemorrhaged points since Edwards & Bell were injured.elbiglad said:

The big question is, will we be loaning him to Bolton or Stockport in August?27

Wonder how long it'll take for people to realize Collins is his first name8

I really don't understand why we didn't go for Danny Imray!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cm2ygnyveezoBy the sound of things, Fevrier has the versitility to play both on the right and the leftImray has only ever played on the right. We could get both, but thats the five loan slots used up in a match day squad then... and I'd hazard a guess that, that slot will be filled by a Midfielder coming in.3 -
I think if we also found and signed a Sichenje Collins it would potentially break this forum.Bexleyheath_Addick said:Wonder how long it'll take for people to realize Collins is his first name2 -
Think the only way we'd have gone for Imray is if we didn't already sign Clarke. Fully agree with you that the 5th slot will be a CM and hopefully there's a permanent one along with it.ForeverAddickted said:dmccart32 said:I really don't understand why we didn't go for Danny Imray!

Oh yes please lets sign another midfielder, I know the Charlie Savage rumour was probably rubbish, but I think he would be decent signing, but it'll cost at least £1.5/2m for him...
...if only we hadn't wasted nearly £4-5m (reported) on players we've just loaned out!3 -
Yeah Savage looks a real player and besties with Knibbs too looking from previous socials posts. We could loan Reading Doc or Anderson too to help them cover the loss.dmccart32 said:

If Mbick goes, surely we take a punt on someone like Savage - the team is crying out for a player like him.7
