With all these budget cuts where will it end? Stationary cupboard will be running dry with all these signings.

With all these unproven championship players and lack of game time, looks like we’re taking a few gambles

I’ve just watched his YouTube video, not to be amazed but to get a sense of what he’s about. My first impression is that he might bring the physicality we’ve been missing in midfield. Just a punt, but we’ll see.

    He's not a Midfielder?
Oh no not another Punt !

So we will have the following defenders in our squad: Ramsey, Clarke, Macca, Lloyd, Coady, Collins, Fevrier, Chambers, Gough, Burke, Bell, Lapa……I am sure we can get some clean sheets with that lot to pick from.

I am back on the midfield…..Conor, Docherty Carey, Fullah, Anderson, Berry, JRC

Up front - Dykes, Miles, Godden, TC

All looks a little out of balance…..
Defenders. 12 players for 5 places
Midfield. 7 players for 2 places
Forwards. 5 players for 2 places.

Are you saying overloaded in midfield?
We play 3 in midfield and it's severely lacking in quality.

More punts than in a whole season of AFL.

Fully aware, but I’m building my own rumour within a rumour!

We’ve seen players like Kolo Touré and Alex Song move between midfield and defence. It’s only a thought.

Just heard that the Kenyan has signed. 1.9m, pending a medical.
Being a right footed CB and with Coady also joining I get the feeling this is only happening because someone in that position is either injured longer term or being sold.

Exciting to be looking abroad though. Assuming it happens I look forward to NJ praising his “pace, power and athleticism”.
I don't know, I wonder if Coady is here as the experienced older pro to provide cover this season when we're deep in the smelly brown stuff, but this lad is envisioned as hopefully being brought through more slowly and will be the cover/squad option next season and maybe bought on more over time.

I still think that Nathan Jones was right royally pissed off certain performances at Millwall, Ramsay and Burke may have been part of that, but the Ramsay and Lloyd Jones rumour seemed to have a lot of credence from people on here. Has Nathan Jones decided that certain players will not improve and it may be a good idea to move them on, is that what is meant by a progressive window ?
Lloyd Jones doesn't need to improve, he's already mustard.

The surprise for me was that we didn’t try and get Deji Elerwere off Bromley rather than Coady.
Hes now at Lincoln and shouldn’t have been let go in the first place.
they obviously think he can play league 1 and above.
    Hindsight is wonderful isn’t it
Oh yeah - I can just imagine the collective moaning on here if we signed an L2 player to sort out our defence.

Tanto and Apter were players signed for the first team right now. They’re not good enough in Jones’ opinion so now we call them ‘investments’
Comments from NJ when each of them were announced:

"Rob's exactly the type of player that we want to sign for Charlton Athletic - he's young, athletic, has a high ceiling and is a really technical player who had a fantastic season last year and did really well against us. He's an exciting player that can score and assist, and a player that will fit into our structure really, really well."

"We’re really happy to sign Tanto. He fits everything we want to do here in terms of his profile - he’s young, hungry, athletic and he wants to play at the next level. He’s one that will continue to get better. He’s had a real good time at Stockport and we felt it was the right time to bring him in. He’s someone we’re really excited about."
A manager speaking bollox. Must be something they learn about for their coaching badges.
Golfie, what did you expect him to say, 'we've signed Rob, who I don't rate, but we need to fill up the bench, so he will do' ' yeah we signed Tanto cos I had a feeling that if I didn't whack one and a half  mill on someone then I wouldn't see it again, even though he couldn't trap a bag of cement' . I am sure they were signed for this season but where I difer from most people is that I have watched their sporadic appearances and they were not good enough. More bad news is that I don't believe Rankin Costello is either. Summing up, we didn’t spend enough and in Tanto, Carey, Knibbs and Apter, only one, Carey will probably have a future at the club and I believe it is because we bought players who we knew we could get and were cheaper than what we should have spent, and yes they were bought for this season but they have failed.

No surprise Cawley but ruled out Savage.

Linda Savage has just unfollowed Greg Docherty.

Name the player if you’re not making it up.

    Still training at 22:35 - That’s Commitment.

    Edit: Just got your PM.
If Chucks re-signs then I’ll be shocked.

Roussillon probably with some excuse about not knowing where the coach to Amiens leaves from.
