Only going on stats Savage's strengths are his passing, crossing and creating chances.
He rarely dribbles and isn't the best defensively on various stats, though does get tackles in and has 5 yellow cards this season.
Left footed and a good set piece taker according to FM.
From that he looks a different type of CM to what we have.0 -

Doesn’t Jones normally have a video answering the questions?0

He is totally unproven at this level and we need a left back, not a jack of all trades.MarcusH26 said:
Think Fevrier is your left wing back being naturally left footed and will cover both sides.BigDiddy said:Left back and creative midfielder ?
Unless we fill those positions, we will stay in trouble.

Bye Bye MaccaCallumcafc said:
You can’t just keep adding more and more and more players as insurance policies though. At a certain point you have to look at how many players are on the books and be as comfortable as you can with what you have.NabySarr said:
Not really if TC is an option for the forward line, Bell is a LCB and Fevrier is a right wing back.Callumcafc said:
The alternative is adding another player who can play there and have five players to cover one position for 18 games. It’s very likely not going to happen.NabySarr said:
That would be an absolutely baffling plan. Having lost Edwards and then struggled with either playing Bell there and him getting injured, or playing wingers there and us being massively vulnerable on the left hand side for the first half of the season. Why on earth would we risk the exact same happening again and rely on a young player who hasn’t played much senior football and has just come off a long lay off, to stay fit until the end of the season. Would be a crazily silly risk to take when it’s the one thing that’s put us in this situation in the first placeCallumcafc said:
I disagree. I think Chambers, Fevrier, Bell and TC are your options there. Fevrier will be preferred on the right and the plan is that Chambers plays almost all of the remaining 18 games.NabySarr said:
Hope not, he’s much better on the right. We need Fevrier on the right so we’ve got a threat from either side, even if it’s mostly from the bench.MarcusH26 said:

We still desperately need another left wing back. Chambers and Fevrier really isn’t good enough and I think we will be trying to add another option
There are doubts whether Fevrier can step up, I’m optimistic he can, but there’s definitely much more chance of that happening if you play him on his best side of the pitch. He’s not a left wing backWe only have Chambers that’s an actual left wing back. If that’s all we are left with then we massively risk repeating the exact same mistakes that have left us struggling and in this position
I think the only way we sign another left footed defender now is if Gillesphey is out the door and we can find someone to cover both positions, like YannTheMann suggested.
Edit: oops sorry it was @fenaddick ‘s suggestion.0 -

Jones has said Fevrier will provide cover at LWB so sounds like Chambers is going to be our man in that position for the rest of the season6

I can believe what he’s saying about Tanto, as there are too many strikers to satisfy everyone’s needs, but I cannot believe for one second that applies to Apter too. So far this season we’ve only really had Bree that contesting his position, and with the Oxford game we saw he could play in the LWB position, a position which had and has 0 competition essentially.fenaddick said:1 -

The initial excitement of signing for a Championship club will be long forgotten when he's dropped for Karoy Anderson at the start of next season after we're relegated, and he's stuck living in Medway having signed a 4 year dealChunes said:

I’ve been watching dross for the last 15 games, so what has NJ missed, or do you think he’s doing a decent job?Sword65pf said:

yes, said he’d provide cover at LWB and provide real competition on the right.Emason32 said:Jones has said Fevrier will provide cover at LWB so sounds like Chambers is going to be our man in that position for the rest of the season3 -
Terry asked NJ specifically about the left side of the defence and the first words out of NJ’s mouth were “we have good strength there now” but “never say never because there’s a few days left and if opportunities come” to improve the team they would explore it.
Doesn’t appear to me like they are actively seeking another left sided defender.3 -
No you don't have to be a manager to have an OPINION this much is true, and that's what a forum is for right, the sharing and debating of opinions but fuck me the volume of people, particularly those on the glass half empty approach to life, who speak in 'facts' and absolutes is astoundingSword65pf said:

Collins Sichenje - sounds like it's happening (insert gif).
There have been reports that Charlton have agreed a deal with Serbian side Vojvodina for Kenyan centre-back Collins Sichenje.
That includes claims that he has passed a medical and will cost in the region of £2million.
Last week Jones told our website that a link to Junior Ligue, who moved this week from FC Zurich to Venezia, was wide of the mark.
He was more guarded on Sichenje, only responding: “Anything happens on that we’ll let you know as soon as we can.”

Sounds like the Kenyan CB could be signing from NJ’s response. Fingers crossed.I’m also expecting a good few exits to happen now from his comments on too many in the squad.May be an active deadline day.1

From what NJ says I can see Mbick going, he says it's between the club and Brighton. Perhaps Sichenje (and others?) only happen if we sell Mbick?5

If we do get the Kenyan CB over the line then fair play to the owners. Same for Savage. If anyone is to criticised so far it’s hardly the money men.3

realistically only really Doc and Anderson to possibly leave now
Gillesphey if a better replacement is available maybe0 -
I'm sure Collins can only happen if we let someone else go, Macca?0
-
I'd need to see more of Sichenje. What limited footage I have seen of him shows him to be tall, fast and as strong as an ox. A little hasty into a challenge (he will pick up many cards) and probably not a particularly technical player - more of a blunt instrument. A very typically African centre back with excellent physical attributes but might need someone to organise the defence around him (ok with Lloydy back there)
Perfectly suited to our current style. Looks the sort that will run through a wall if told - and that wall will be absolutely decimated.
Right footed. Speaks english12 -

Hopefully that’s us trying to play down how much we want another player thereCallumcafc said:Terry asked NJ specifically about the left side of the defence and the first words out of NJ’s mouth were “we have good strength there now” but “never say never because there’s a few days left and if opportunities come” to improve the team they would explore it.

Really think it would be crazy if we go into the second half of the season with just our current options. One positive is this must mean Bell is either fit now or very nearly back1 -
Fullah maybe too as a possible exit.CharltontillidieCOYR said:realistically only really Doc and Anderson to possibly leave now

I think this is a millwall/AI inspired spoof just to wind us up and cause a bit of confusion. If you can get that picture back, just look at the text underneath it, its a "piss take" ,cafc_harry said:If Collins is as athletic as he’s been described he could serve as the left centre back with Fevrier pushing up with Campbell.
A pal sent me a picture on WhatsApp of a millwall/AI inspired shot of 4 Charlton supporters on a train with their heads in their hands, presumably meant to be after last Saturday. It was meant to be at Charlton station but you can see the station name board through the train window with the word CHARLTON but its on a London underground blue and red round sign. Charlton isn't on the tube network. Also through the windows on the other side you can see other platforms. Charlton only has 2. Also the 4 fans have red shirts on with the word Charlton on the front ! Every club has their shirt sponsors name on the front, not their club name.0 -
