Ipswich owe us a good un - they've more than got their own back over the years after we took Mat Holland.
    What an odd comment
Is it?, I took that to mean we’ve had some iffy players off of them since then? Not overly odd 🤷🏻‍♂️
I misread it. I thought Doucher was criticising Matty Holland. My mistake
Easy done, wasn’t a dig, thought I’d missed something.😂👍 just shows how easy it is to misinterpret a post!!, happens to me a lot😬

Please sir! Can I have more!!,  agree would like a few more quality ones, would love to see someone in the middle to knit everything together and bring the strikers more into play , along with the obvious others we need,,,, But it’s the jan window.

There are probably 4 or 5 more areas that could be improved in our team, but I’d say we “need” 2 more signings. A LWB and then Bree (or other RWB).

I think we will also get a striker, we could also upgrade at LCB and in midfield but I’d say they are more wants rather than needs. If we get the wing back signings right then we will stay up

I don’t think many clubs will make 5 January signings, and those that do are usually not well run or successful

Scanlon, Dykes, Bree signed/extended and a LCB is my guess.

Scanlon and Dykes are almost certainly loans, Bree will be a nominal fee, so I'd like to see us spend money on a LCB if possible.

Of course i'd also want a central midfielder in to compete with Coventry and Docherty but that's too much to ask in Jan

Leicester and Ipswich also looking at Dykes should tell you everything you need to know about January transfer windows lol

Surely we'll be bringing in a midfielder if Anderson leaves on loan? I'd like another midfielder regardless of Anderson's status, we are still very weak in the middle

Stuck this on the non Charlton thread but I wonder if we have any interest in Villa's young LWB Finlay Munroe who they've just recalled from Swindon.

LCB is usually a very difficult position to shop for, and quite pricey. I think it’s unlikely we’d be able to sign one permanently this month. It’s probably one for the summer, Bell and Gillesphey should be fine to see us till then

That's a big ask to go from League two to to the Championship in the same season.

Not if Bell tore his hamstring, that's 3 months out minimum

If he tore his hammy, he would have been stretched off, hopefully just tight and will be ok...🤞🙏

Thinking the same unfortunately, and if it’s not as bad as that, how many more games will we get out of him anyway, it’s clear Macca is struggling at this level.

I am no expert but from the way he was hobbling off it didn't look good.

Also was Dykes definitely at the Chelsea game? Why would he be there unless a deal is imminent?
He was not there … Leicester are the latest team
    linked with him

Is he .. funny when things not going right people go back to number one target … even through he not been responsible for any goal against us unlike Carey and Campbell for example ?

Being sold to Middlesbrough on a permanent amid interest from Bristol City and Preston, apparently.

Is it any different to Campbell being your number one target?

Campbell is also much more likely to be playing Championship football in the next few seasons than Gillesphey.

A LWB and Bree by the weekend would be nice
I’m told there will be 3 plus bree in total this window - so assuming scanlon, who’s the other lucky chap ? I’d go for a powerhouse box to box midfielder assuming Godden is still on course

Either Dykes or some random 17 year old forward on loan no-one ever heard of, signed on the last minute of the last day because we messed up on the ones we actually wanted.

    It's the Charlton way.

Scoham, Ronnie's comment is ridiculous, please don't give him the pleasure. He gave Campbell 4 against Chelsea, then he comes out with that old shit, just ignore him.
  • Back 5

    Apter.    Ramsey.    Jones.     Bell.             Edwards
    Bree.     Clarke.       Burke.      Gillesphey.     ?

It's clear we need a LWB.

I would also like to sign Bree permanently and add a LCB (then sell Gillesphey).

I would take dominant competition for Lloydy too given Burke is not reliable enough.

Obviously we won't get all those but 2 left sided players is an absolute minimum for me.

On the basis we’re not looking to play pretty football, we need power and pace added - Clarke looks to have that as does scanlon - if Phil Chapple can unearth the next ya ya toure, he’ll have done his job

I’m expecting a striker after Fofana fell through and we’ve been linked with Dykes.

I think we’d probably all like a CM but can see it being like last January when Jones was happy with what we had there.

Actually expect a CM , the rumours wouldn't be doing the rounds about Anderson if we weren't looking for an upgrade in there.
