When we do sign some more attack-minded players, I think a lot of people are going to have their eyes opened.

People may realise that these types of players - especially at Championship level - are inconsistent, do lack a killer instinct and end product, and, in general, don’t work as hard as TC unless they have the ball at their feet.

There aren’t many teams that asks their most attacking player to do as much as TC defensively, or brings them on to see out games away at Boro. Nobody thinks he’s perfect, but he’s been a huge asset for us this year. Hopefully his burden is lightened with some additions over the summer.

Surely he gets sold this summer if he doesn't sign a new contract even with a lot of inconsistiences theres definitely a lot of value in the player and we aren't exactly a club who can happily let players go for free

When your only pacy and creative threat is a 22 year old winger and you’re asking him to play wing back and striker then bashing him for not defending or scoring enough then something isn’t right.

I think that formation we played in the last couple of games with the two behind a striker could work for him going forward if the other player alongside him is also a threat like Small, Fevrier or Rak Sakyi (to name a few recent players that would work there)

Now isn’t the time to give up on him. There is a reason that almost every set of fans after the game say he was the player they liked the look of. An equivalent player would be Sorba Thomas who was loaned to France where he scored one goal in a season and part of a Huddersfield side that got relegated down to League one before signing for Stoke last summer and now he’s wanted by Coventry for £20million. Play wingers properly and they can be a huge threat

I personally really like TC and was happy to see him get third place in the POTY voting last week.  Hopefully he can see from that, that a lot of fans do rate him.

One of the very few players we have (if not the only player) that can skin opposition players, get you off your seat & deliver a bit of excitement.
But he DONT create anything .. what’s the point if he don’t have an end product .. our goals per game is mainly down to Campbell only having 4 assists all season

I know you’re not a serious poster but he’s created our most chances from open play this season so that’s just blatantly false
Just checked stats … in fact I gave him one more assist he had two Dykes and Doc 3 Carey 2 .. so no he did not do his job that he in the team for

There Was a Preston bloke online who tbf was very far ahead on all the small contract situation and clearly has some inside info who said they were interested in TC but other Preston fans said he can be very hit or miss

Final chance creation stats for the season.

Improve our finishing across the squad and TC will get more assists.

Also have to keep in mind TC doesn’t take set pieces.

If you just filter to open play then TC is 1st on chances created and xA both total and per 90.

He’s also by far our best at chance creating carries. And has the 16th most of these in the championship this season

He’s also 6th in the championship for carries that end in a shot.

Perhaps the stat that shows his importance to us the most. In terms of progressive carries. He carries the ball on average 88.2 metres forward up the pitch per 90 minutes on the pitch. Our next best is Bell on 55.5m with Carey and Ramsay just behind that

Overall I’d say his chance creation and carrying stats stack up pretty well against other championship wingers/attackers, considering TC is young and it’s his first year at this level. I think we rely on him way too much to create from open play and carry the ball up the pitch, and we need to add other players this summer that can do the same (An attacking right wing back please)

I think he probably leaves this summer, only thing that probably keeps him here is his personality being so shy he might not be keen to move away or into a totally new environment.

At Charlton he knows everyone and has been here years, the manager loves him and he knows he will get plenty of game time. Moving elsewhere would be a risk and maybe out of his comfort zone a little bit. TC doesn’t strike me as the kind of person who likes being out of his comfort zone

I think there’d be a queue of championship teams interested if he doesn’t sign a new contract. He’s the kind of player nearly every team would like to have in their squad. The pace and 1v1 ability he has is rare and that alone will get plenty of interest and be tough for us to replace if he does leave

Feel like there’ll be championship sides circling for him this summer, 1 year extension or not, we need to give him a new contract. Another one of those players that needs to get physically stronger and will look even better with better players around him.

It's a good point about his personality. Ultimately I think he'll end up moving so he can play in his actual position. I don't see how his development goes well playing this weird ST/WG hybrid that he's never going to play anywhere else.

Depends on what the plan is. We’ve been more traditional 3-5-2 in the second half of the season which hasn’t suited TC.

Early this season and second half of last season with the hybrid 3-5-2/4-2-3-1 is when we played our best football so I’m hoping we bring in an attacking right wing back and return to that setup, and then TC is going to have an important role to play
