Ugly win will be absolutely fine, how anyone could possibly predict TC to score I don’t know, in fact I’ll have some of what they are on!!😂1

Sutton's keeper has returned from injury and Reid has been on the bench so no need to worry there I thinkkillerandflash said:Tommy Reid has been recalled from his loan at Sutton, suggesting one of our keepers is injured. Maybe 2?4 -
Mannion and AMB did have their injury problems last season so wouldn’t be surprised if its either of them rather than Kaminskikillerandflash said:Tommy Reid has been recalled from his loan at Sutton, suggesting one of our keepers is injured. Maybe 2?0 -
If it ricochets off that arse it will land in Dartford. Lolfenlandaddick said:Just win. I'd take a uncontrolled shot off Leaburn's shin with a ricochet off the right arse cheek of Hernandez at this point.7 -
He can't do it. Cannot cover the ground like Campbell does. We could try 3-4-3 with both Apter and Campbell wide and Leaburn at CF to receive crosses. It would be Apter's last chance to fit in. If it shows no promise, get rid. Someone oop north will pay good money for him. He is a good player. Just does not fit in here.RonnieMoore said:Apter got to be given Campbell role4 -
If it hits his arse we aint getting the ball back!redbuttle said:

Last weekend we started 4-2-3-1 withDOUCHER said:just listened to a bit of charlton live - they kept saying we set up with a back 4 last week against coventry - we didn't - we started with a back 5 with bree and bell as wing backs and we were back to the 'formula' and were playing ok - it was after bell went off that everything got jumbled about again and we had gillesphey getting skinned at full back and TC out of position again - am i missing something? it was as clear as day that was when it started going wrong - 532 works for us, end of.
...........Kaminski
Ramsay Jones Gillesphey Bell
....Coventry...Carey
Bree....Knibbs..........TC
.........Tanto
We then went to
Bree Jones Gillesphey Ramsay
.....Cov....Carey
Tanto....Knibbs.....TC
........Leaburn
I forget how we evolved after that but it was definitely a back 4 with Bree playing as an out and out winger, albeit a defensive one. Jones even said in his post-match that Bell was played as a LB because he couldn't withstand the demands of LWB.1 -
Pompey's recent away form is poor and they are conceding quite a few goals.
This is a game we should win, however, we MUST start scoring more goals (stating the bleedin' obvious)
We still have a lot of defenders out injured. A back four a t m is the best formation
Be good to know when we can expect to be getting back to near full strength
The team's performance at Coventry was encouraging even in defeat, Pompey are nowhere near Coventry's standard
A much needed win for us.3 -
Thanks @ForeverAddickted. 33 years today the anniversary. My fear is Charlton sides do not turn up for 'occasion' games, especially occasions before any of them were even born.
So, tacticians of charlton life, is Fullah a realistic option for the left back or left wing back role in light of other options that may or may not be available? (E.g. Can he tackle?)

Not really. It's too much responsibility for him at this stage. If he were to play (and I don't think he would) you'd see TC at LWB and Fullah playing off the striker a bit like Knibbs did against Coventryswords_alive said:Thanks @ForeverAddickted. 33 years today the anniversary. i think it's worth a try - if it works, it solves a lot of our problems in the short to medium termswords_alive said:Thanks @ForeverAddickted. 33 years today the anniversary. My fear is Charlton sides do not turn up for 'occasion' games, especially occasions before any of them were even born.

My heart says 3-0, my head says 1-1, my elbows say 2-2, and my knees says 3-2.4

Receive crosses ? That the problem we are not creating and Campbell the big problem Apter better all round winger then Campbell will create crosses and score morewolfgang said:

This is my concern, I'll be happy with not losing to a near rival.Bedsaddick said:Can’t see us scoring and Portsmouth have to get a result at some stage against us. 0-00 -
As bad as four defeats in a row sounds bad. Getting anything from Southampton, Stoke and Coventry was always a big ask. Back to winning ways tomorrow with a convincing 3-0 win. UTA.5

Bit worried about this one for some reason?
Can't see either team scoring. So 0-0 to Charlton!0 -

I agree with you here, Ronnie. Apter is better at crossing and scoring. That is why I suggested playing him as an orthodox winger on the right (his better side). But we also need Campbell in the team as he is currently the only one who can consistently move the ball away from our penalty area and to the edge of the opposition's.
To compensate for playing three forwards in a 3-4-3, three of the midfielders need to be primarily defenders and the fourth able to contribute in defence as well.0 -
Well we need a heroic performance from the bowlers and batters tomorrow to save the Ashes.
So 2-10 -

IF we lose to Pompey, our only claim to being a bogey team of, we are going down!
Sweet dreams.2
