IF we lose to Pompey, our only claim to being a bogey team of, we are going down!

    Sweet dreams.
Our home record against Pompey isn't stunning, it's our record at Fratton Park which is really stellar...

Win tomorrow and I think Tuesday will see close to a half-empty Valley!

Midweek matches are never well-attended but a freezing cold and wet week in December? If Grandson no 2 hadn't said he wants to go I'd have given it a miss and watched it on the idiot lantern instead.

We need to drop TC. He literally is doing nothing game after game.

One side of the argument is that we have no Strikers getting in the box, the other side is that the wingers don't get the ball into the box.

The reality is in-between. We don't get enough balls into the box and the strikers aren't in there nearly often enough even if more were delivered.

Positionally we started the season well, but we've got considerably and noticeably worse in both attack and defence. I have an assumptive worry we have too much focus on the first 11 and not enough on the fringe players.

Lot of negative comments re TC bit I thought last week he managed to get us up the pitch more often than not. Back to the game, so impt not to lose. Their form is mixed and a draw looks a good bet. Not sure, think our injuries are still an issue 1-0 to Pompey.

Block H in the Curbs stand, a bellwether block, the eve of the game, never been looking so empty, but at £35 adults not really a surprise

Good half hour or so at Coventry offers some hope but with injuries we offer next to nothing as an attacking force.
The early season fluffing now a distant memory and the reality that we aren’t, presently, anywhere near a top ten team .
Pompey have the same last 6 games return of 4 points as us , this is a chance to put some space between us and the dreaded R …..
Win this and I might come out of my we’re heading in to relegation on a juggernaut feeling , lose this and we’re gonna be in for a long horrible relegation battle in dire need of some proper player improvement in January .
Draw it and we’ll keep the wolves at bay for a touch longer .
draw at best or a 1 goal defeat .
We’re currently a bit like bitcoin , we’re not this amazing thing that’s going straight to the moon , a filthy dumper slumper is where we’re at

The clubs cryptic article about it being the biggest attendance for home game v Portsmouth in the last 6 league meetings against the team from the South Coast at the Valley is a spin on it not being over 20,000 which if it was they would have told us all by now.

Around 18/19,000 this lunchtime is my educated guess

Oh joy, another lunchtime kick-off ... it'll be dark when I leave home and dark when I get back :(

    The Opposition
Name: Portsmouth (22nd) - Manager: Jose Mousinho

    The not-so-special one.

Crap game incoming but the right result.

1-0, second half goal from the Ginger Genius in front of the Cupboard End.

I think we're overstating the importance of this game. More than half of the season left, key players to return and the January window around the corner, whatever happens today won't define our season. That being said, I'm feeling positive that we'll get the win today. 2-1 Charlton, with a late Pompey goal causing a stressful end to the game.

We are in a bit of trouble if we lose today. A win takes us 9 points above them which will be massive. COYR.

Lose today and we could find ourselves 3 points off the relegation spots.
Not overstating the importance at all.

Overall we need 1.087 points per game to survive.
    We are currently on 1.2778.
With 28 games left we now need to achieve 0.9643 points per game to survive.
All that assumes 50 points keeps you up.
On the basis of my brilliant calculations it would be nice to win today, OK to draw, and not a disaster to lose.

Been looking at whether TCs finishing and composure need reducing in FM, so no doubt he’ll score today.

Hopefully that’ll be enough to get us 3 points.

Portsmouth and Charlton share the same problem, can’t score, no idea if either will today?

Yes glad to see Anderson given a start, hopefully he can push us forward. With the players available I think that’s the best starting 11 although I personally would have Fullah in from the start over Hernandez
