The last thing anyone wants is any kind of confusion/ division over this.
@northstandsteve, thanks for the background and be good if we can pick up contact from here - please check your inbox.
CAST have been in touch about this with the club since earlier this week, to ensure any future plans involve Norm's family. We all wanted to wait till after Tuesday and then CAST and club spoke yesterday morning and agreed to go ahead. CAST set up the fundraiser and launched last night. Only at that time did we become aware that there was another CAFC one.
The target CAST has set is big and challenging at £15K - this is based on what was needed for the Seb Lewis mosaic, which we helped to bring to fruition following initial fundraising by Brogue Stevens. It's a lot of money for an individual to be responsible for, whereas CAST is a registered and regulated organisation. We've done crowdfunders on a number of occasions now - including for new equipment for visually impaired fans at The Valley and the Back to The Valley mural.
We're in touch with the organiser behind the Pompey fundraiser for Norm and they will look to combine in terms of how their funds are used.
Hope this helps all round. Most important thing is that we take account of the wishes and input from Norm's family and then work with the club to ensure that he is permanently remembered at The Valley. First things first, we need to raise the funds for that, which will give the opportunity to consider a range of options.

Must admit that I'd like to donate something which would go to a charity in Norm's name (not mine).
It could be the British Heart Foundation or a family favourite.
This would be a substantial donation (say £100.00) but I cannot really see a way to do this at the moment. I could just make a donation directly to a charity but that's not really what I want.
Maybe the club could organise something "official" or doesn't it work like that?0 -
Have you been in touch with the other CAFC fundraiser?castrust said:The last thing anyone wants is any kind of confusion/ division over this.

Maybe the club could organise something "official" or doesn't it work like that? The only official thing the club does for fans is through the community trust website: https://cact.gives/fundraising/create/remember. However with Norm I doubt fundraising for a funeral will be needed. The CAST one is fan lead memory tribute. If you want to make a donation in Norms name (to charity) I am sure there are many charitable organizations he supported over the years you could donate to in his memory. 🙏

would be great to get as much as possible for a permanent tribute to Norm, similar to Seb’s Mosaic😍2 -
We've closed the museum for the day but it's been left in good hands
