Rio Ferdinand was in better gyms in Sidcup in the week - 100% true - not really relevant to our game against Oxford - I doubt anyway - but thought I’d report it through the Charlton life channels.
Is this a tongue in cheek comment that should be on the Rumours thread Doucher, we are looking for a left footed defender...😉
  • Very nervous for this. I watched them beat Ipswich and they looked quite good. Will be very close and I am not sure our injuries have cleared up enough. 1-1 and even though it is only a point it keeps the gap intact.

The data doesn't lie, a win by one goal:

    Can't wait to thrash Millwall.

I think the team will be:
    ..........................Kaminsky
    ........Ramsay.......Jones (C).......Gillsphey
    Bree......Coventry......Anderson........Fullah
    ..........................Carey
    ..............Oloafe ......TC

Bench: Mannoin, Bell, JRC, Docherty, Knibbs, Berry, Apter, Leaburn, Kelman

I'll be watching this one through my fingers. Very nervous for it. Play the way we did in the second half last week and we should give a good accounting of ourselves. I just worry that our last few matches, including Pompey, we've started slowly. Hopefully a week off has done everyone a world of good, including those coming back from injury. I don't expect anyone coming back from injury to start, I just think it's too big of a risk. But that bench starts to look stronger.
  • Issue is it sounds like they play a similar style to us, happy not to have the ball and press hard. Pressure will be on us to make something happen which could work in their favour. Still fancy us to take it though, form improving and injury returns all pointing in the right direction

A must win game and I think we will. Don't think it will be a Blackburn 3-0 type of game but I think we will come away with all 3 points.

We just need to get the win by hook or by crook as they say.  The chance to put 8 points between us is a massive incentive.  I’d like NJ to keep Fullah at LWB.  Albeit he had a quiet game last week, and I think he was thinking more about the defensive side of his game, but the balance of the team looked so much better with him on the left.  I imagine TC has earned his chance back in the starting line up, so potentially see him in for Leaburn, but other than that, same team for me again please.

big, big game.  Come on lads

Very nervous for this one - Rowett hates Charlton and blames us and the training Dowie put him through for the injury that ended his career - something about running with a weight attached behind him.

This adds a little extra - we need all of our guys to be sharp as possible - If Bell starts and can get through most of the game, I am confident we will win.

If not our balnce can slip and it'll be a very edgy affair.

Fullah is capable of showing some quality that could make a huge difference.

If kelman plays I have a feeling that he could get a second.

Start Fullah and we win. He'll score his first league goal soon.

I reckon 3-2. Or if bell starts 2-0
  • Matchday and I'm feeling confident we'll put on a performance and pick up a deserved win.

Big big game, backing the boys to do us proud and get a result. NJ needs to work his magic and get them revved up for this.

It’s not a must win but it’s definitely a must not lose . I think we will nick it anyway . 2-1 (Jones & Berry )
  • A low quality observation - the next 5 games will be played on different days - Saturday, Friday, Monday, Thursday, Sunday.

Just had a chat with Josh Widdicombe at Exeter st Davids, he saw the Charlton shirt and came over and said hello, talked about Mitchell and he said how awful Oxfords ground is.
  • Could hear the Covered End chanting, "Easy, Easy", as Oxford lined up to kick off for the sixth time. Then, I woke up.

Against five teams that do not wear red.

    Great match preview @ForeverAddickted

Likely a draw but with players potentially back hoping for a vital 3 points

Hmm - looking at the years he was here, you are right.

The only reason I have any idea about this is when I caught him telling this story on an ESPN appearance and he mentioned Dowie- which doesn't line up, so I've no idea.

All I know is he doesn't like us and blames the training for his injury that ended his career - Im convinced he mentioned Dowie and then after I saw it I hunted down and found an image of Hasslebank running with a large weight tied to his back as he ran, which correlated with Rowett's complaint.
