Yet when he goes forward to take a free kick or clear up field if we're chasing a game he stays stranded in no mans land and i worry he will get chipped. Maybe he's one of those people who needs a white line in reach, and gets fixed to it on those occasions, but then without one he just wanders around until the next time the line comes in to view.cafc_se7 said:
You and my Dad would get on. Thomas comeoffyourlinski as he calls him.hoof_it_up_to_benty said:Kaminski is a good shot stopper but doesn't dominate his box and his goalkicks barely reach the halfway line. Still not clear if he is an upgrade on Mannion. Seems to stay rooted to his line on too many occasions.

My goal of the season so far.Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:I've just seen Kelman's goal back on the highlights. In the stadium I sensed the ball popped out to Kelman, and he took advantage by shooting. But there was more to it than that.
Watching it back, he rolled his man with his first touch, and shot smoothly with his second. The ball didn't sit up for him in a stroke of good fortune; there was no improvisation to set up the shot. He must have practiced that turn-and-shot thousands of times - muscle memory kicked in. The weight and placement of the pass to him from TC gve him options and made it possible.
A superb goal for the understanding shown between the two players and the precision and calmness in what they did in the moment. Beautiful stuff.2 -
Oxford were very ordinary, but to be fair Brannagan is their captain and heartbeat and a big miss. If he had taken their late free kick, I imagine Kaminski would have been tested far more.

Didn't make it to the game so watched from home, I mean Spain. Thought the quality was mostly poor and against a slightly better team we wouldn't have got anything. Still, a wins a win and hopefully can push on again with injuries and some confidence returning.3
-
I'd happily take 2 draws or 1 win from the games at Norwich & Pompey. That would leave us in a reasonable position at the half way point, with 13 of 23 games left at home.6

Bree wants to sign here. So it's entirely up to the club if he does or not now.eastterrace6168 said:Was really impressed with Bree today, and he played like someone who would love to stay at the club, and hopefully the club would like him to stay also, because he is the kind of impressive and forward thinking player we need here...9 -

Massive result.
I don't think it was the best advert for championship football for the majority of the game, but we had some great attacking spells and offered a lot more than a very poor Oxford side did.
Love Karoys last two performances, he's a lot better than Docherty and the beauty is, he's a lot younger so can hopefully only improve. Still raw, but so much better than what we were watching before.
Miles best game for us by a mile imo, real complete performance, except for a goal. Held it up well, was everywhere, and really fought the whole game. Felt like he won almost every header.
TC is far, far better coming on as a sub. He looks way more dangerous against tired defenders and I think that is his calling now. Leaburn and Kelman to start as I think they could be something with some time.
Overall a very enjoyable afternoon, beat Norwich and Pompey and we can probably start to imagine ourselves as a Championship side in 26/276 -

Southbank said:So here is a puzzle. Say the Leaburn/Kelman partnership works and we play with those two up front. Say Bell/Edwards recover or we buy another proper left wingback. Say Bree signs.
Do either TC or Apter have a starting role in that case? Neither are proper strikers or strong enough to be defensive wingbacks. Are they destined as makeweights to cover injuries? I cannot see a system which has them in their proper role, as wingers.
Football is a 16 player game now so both Campbell and Apter will get game time whether starters or game changers.
The business end of a game from 70 minutes on is as important as which 11 start.
Both Campbell and Apter will do their best work going forward obviously but they have to learn some defensive skills out of possession.

Quite likely yes. And in what world is Bree third choice? He is first choice in the RWB position. And in what way is he a journeyman?Gisappointed said:

Great goal, but no chance... There was a team move earlier in the season finished off by, I think, Bree, that is the best goal I've seen us score in yearsOrpingtony said:

Given the fee they spent on De Keersmaker (£3-4m) ish that doesn't seem like a risk from them that's going to pay off.ForeverAddickted said:Gisappointed said:

No your not, although I’m not say bree is 3rd choice but not keen on paying big money/wages for him.Gisappointed said:

His contract expires in June next year, any fee won't be excessive, and I should think Southampton would do well to take a reasonable offer rather than lose him for free in 6 months...2 -

Sorry it took a while, got absolutely plastered in Canterbury last night. Would have liked it shorter but got fed up of trimming in the end, something to fall asleep to for the next few days, cheers

Bree will be a good addition - he has a good first touch, is a good crosser / set piece taker, is good in the air and has a lot of nouse - he isn't going to go past defenders but neither did beckham - he'll do for meGisappointed said:

So there we have it!
Merry Christmas everyone 🎄That's bollocks though, cos Stoke, Birmingham and Coventry are further west than Southampton, and Boro's further east than Oxford.
We'll win 3-0.
Louis Mendez and Richard Cawley will be happy as they will get the best food a reporters' pass will get you, thanks of Delia Smith.

Fukuda's 25, and even as a believer that players can blossom later in their careers, youngster is a stretch in context hereGisappointed said:

To reword this, you mean an untried youngster rather than an experienced quality player at this level who has even shown his quality already for us?Gisappointed said:
