Stupid question, why can’t clubs mix up kits anymore?Talal said:
Had forgotten Pompey wear red socks so expect it's because of that (as shorts can be the same now). Shame kits can't be mixed up anymore, would much prefer this again..Sage said:Regarding the kit issue, I am fairly sure you are not allowed now to wear different coloured shorts to what the actual kit is meant to be, as in we can’t wear black shorts with the red home kit. It’s different for the women’s game for obvious reasons.

As solid as Gough was against Norwich, I don't think NJ will want him and Apter alongside each other, especially away from home. I'd have Apter on the left with Bell as the LCB, and hope Bree can be slightly less useless. Reckon Portsmouth will come out firing so the key to getting anything from the game is weathering the early storm. I'm not particularly confident that we'll be able to do that sadly, but either way I'll be there supporting the boys.4

Not a stupid question mate, just a stupid rule, and the clubs must at some time have voted for these rules, but just makes no sense whatsoever,...The Red Robin said:

I think we've been a bit shaken by the sheer ineptitude of Saturday's performance, particularly after two decent results suggested that we may have turned a corner. We need to try and pass the ball once in a while and carry some threat up top because if we play like we did at Norwich tonight, we're going to find ourselves hovering just above the drop zone, with two tough games coming up against Covo and Blackburn. If we go to Portsmouth to park the bus, we're very likely to lose.
We're usually slow starters and I expect Pompey to really go after us in the opening stages. Let's hope we can demonstrate the defensive solidity which has characterised much of this season.
I think we'll see a couple of changes and I wouldn't be surprised to see Kelman and TC start. I'd also like to see Apter given another chance at right wing-back but I doubt that it will happen. I fear it will be too early for Ramsey but we'll know soon enough.

I’m not going ….. so we have a chance of getting something.3

I agree mate and I fear that NJ will set up to not concede and I can’t see us holding out out for 90 minutes. Once we go behind we won’t have the firepower to comeback I fearBlucher said:I think we've been a bit shaken by the sheer ineptitude of Saturday's performance, particularly after two decent results suggested that we may have turned a corner. 1-0 defeat unfortunately0 -
1-1 draw, but I have some hope of sneaking a 1-0 win, just because it is fratton park. I can't remember 2 poor performances one after the other this season (maybe southampton - stoke) so I am pretty sure we will see more effort than that travesty on Friday.1
-
1-2 win after going 1-0 down. A proper Christmas miracle.1
-
A win today and everyone can relax again - think there's been a lot of OTT reaction to the Norwich game - same as the black kit - if fans singing and encouraging is deemed irrelevant, then what colour kit we wear must be even further down the chain, surely. Although i do agree its a mickey mouse kit but there again i think all the Reebok stuff is utter rubbish - the worst we've ever had tbh.4

Worrying times when the majority would be delighted with a point. Shows how awful we were against Norwich2

Think its more dont lose and pompey closing the points gap.siblers said:Worrying times when the majority would be delighted with a point. Shows how awful we were against Norwich1 -
Win the home games, draw the away games is the attitude I've had all seasonscruffle said:
I think as much as the second half v norwich was garbage its more the fact we're away again why most, myself included would be happy with a pointsiblers said:Worrying times when the majority would be delighted with a point. Shows how awful we were against Norwich5 -
Think not losing is the most important thing, obviously love 3 points but 0-0 would do.4
-
This is just a don’t lose match keeping Portsmouth from gaining 3 points whilst also picking 1 up urself almost feels like a win when you’re the team that’s trying to keep them at arms distance2
-
It’s hard to believe Pompey have more injuries than us.
if NJ sends out a team with attacking intent, I say 2-0 to us.
Just off to take my medication.6 -
Don’t worry. I’ve turned the nightmare set of results into an acca to make sure it doesn’t happen.Er_Be_Ab_Pl_Wo_Wo_Ch said:Norwich and Blackburn have winnable games. Oxford host Swansea. Win tomorrow night we're still in trouble; but less than a win and the table could look absolutely horrible.
Really hoping to see a performance. Be it battling, footballing, scrapping, don't really care - I just want to see us turn up with a game plan and to be competitive. Do that and we have a chance.4 -

According to this article, Kayne Ramsay is doubtful for tonight. Not the only thing which is doubtful

This is a good reason which I’ve posted before in reply to people moaning and saying that red v blue is fine, because it isn’t.
In the UK, about 4.5 percent of the population, which means about three million people, are colour blind. The condition can make it really difficult for a person to identify and tell the difference between various colours.
Last time I posted an article for adults so here’s an article for children to understand, lol:

My wounded heart needs a good performance and a good win. My dizzy head has been pounding over the Norwich result.
Heart needs 0-1 Head thinks 1-1 at best.Hope it is worth the journey!!1 -
Sitting back and hoping to pinch something from a set piece or late counter is fine against the better sides but against the likes of Norwich, Pompey etc we have to be a bit more positive from the off.Hopefully that’s the lesson Jones has taken from Boxing Day4
-
Does anyone really believe Jones is going to change his general approach (keep it tight for 70, attack with fresh players in the last 20)? Can't see it, it is how he manages.
The mistake against Norwich was
- Poor subs groupings, leaving us exposed
- Not keeping it tight until 70
Norwich fans were silent the whole game. If we had got to 75-80 mins at 0-0 even they would have started to turn on their team. Pompey will be toxic if it's 0-0 at 75-80 and I am sure it is what Nathan will aim for again.
It won't be pretty, but has been effective early in the season.4 -
Agree, we'll very likely play a very similar way. Wasn't much wrong with us v Norwich until the changes on 60mins. Same again please but without Docherty for Anderson (unless conditions dictate that has to be).2
-
Isn't the reason we're not wearing red though otherwise it wouldn't have been allowed in games like Leicester and Millwall.jimmymelrose said:Powell2ThePeople said:But I’m colour blind, so a real difference is important to me.Some games are unwatchable on the telebox.

Have never seen us lose live at Pompey and hope tonight is not the first time it happens to me. We need the points. Right team selection and attitude from the off and we will sneak the win…2

Go and get the win0

Kaminski
Gough Jones Gillesphey
Apter Anderson Docherty Bell
Fullah
Kelman TC
Mannion, Laqeratebua, Rankin-Costello, Bree, Coventry, Carey, Knibbs, Olaofe, Leaburn
Absolutely random I know and I'll get pelters for it, but that side on Boxing Day was disgraceful when it came to going forward and controlling midfield, so why not change pretty much all of them? This front 5 can't play much worse, let's be honest.
