One thing I have to say…. Why is Carey on long throws and not Clarke? Carey’s are average at best…. Clarke fired one in like a bloody missile.
Did we not score from a Carey throw?

Clarke looks like he cares, that's enough for me, sign him up.

Has anyone got a clip of the edge of the box tackle/foul on Harry late on in yesterday's game?

    Was it a foul?

From my view in the west it was kinda hard to see it looked like he got fouled but I was watching a Birmingham fan vlog and from the away end it looked like the player has got something on the ball so probably benefit of the doubt to the ref on that one who was good I thought.

I shared the view that he was taken out but from that vlog it does look like a very good tackle from the Brum player
  • This guy needs to be signed and soon. Good player, comparisons with Mills are not far off - Clarke though is better with his feet. His short range passing with left food also above average for a right back. I like him.

When he was through on goal on Saturday his first touch let him down badly. Had that been better I think he might have at least hit the target.

He couldn't slow down in time I don't think to adjust. And the shot was on target but blocked
  • Surely our number one target in the summer transfer window.

I'd try and keep all our January Loans to be fair
Chambers would be a great backup so we're not having to rely on Edwards every match

My favourite Loan player since Cullen.

110% every game and plays with intelligence. I’d love to see him in a Charlton shirt next year.

We are going to struggle to find a player more suited to what NJ is looking to achieve especially as he's not, yet, been able to regularly show what he can do going forward.

He is already proper Charlton. Love you Clarkey!

Hope he calms it down a little on the performances otherwise there’s no chance of us getting him
  • Needs to be the first player we sign

    Unreal

everything we want in a charlton player

Should be the first player we sign in the summer.

Not saying it shouldn’t be the case but his effort and passion for us considering he is on loan is a real credit to himself. I think he’s great and would be chuffed to see him with us next season, because I think he can get even better.

Maybe he tried harder last night to help his parent clubs automatic promotion hopes?

He's been brilliant for us. I would love it if we can get him on a permanent transfer but pretty sure he will have other suitors.

I would hope so but I think NJ would rather have Bree. He's NJ's full-back version of Luke Berry.

Unless Saints sacked Eckert I can't see Bree being available as much as NJ loves him.

Clarke would be absolutely excellent and I suspect there's a deal to be done with Ipswich regardless of what they end up doing.

Ultimately it’s Bree’s choice but Southampton will need to offer him a deal. I’m sure we’ll do the same, they have deeper pockets but we have Nathan Jones. Interesting choice for him

I think this is a deal we need to get done in the summer.

Harrison Clarke is turning into a proper January window success.
He ain't the finished article but he's got a lot of what's needed, has a mighty engine and leaves it all on the pitch.
If he fancies sticking around in SE7, I for one will be pleased to see him ploughing up and down the right for another couple of years at least.

Harry is another no nonsense player like Jones - gives his all. If his finishing was better he wouldn't be playing for us.

Would be a good signing - hopefully he stays.

If Harry's finishing was better he'd been playing as a striker!

As I mentioned on the post match thread: Clarke's contact is up at the end of June '26' and I can't see how the 12 month extension option can be triggered as he has only played for Charlton and Sheffield United over the last year of his 3 year Ipswich contract.

Any football agents on here like to talk about the pros and cons of '1 year contract extension' other than what is on Ai Google ?
They will probably extend it just to get a fee from us or another championship team. He’s done well enough for us that there’s going to be plenty to of interest, but really hope we can get him signed
and Ipswich commit to paying him another 12 months wages if they aren’t going to play him ? They lost £36m last time they got promoted to the PL so I guess this campaign won’t be any cheaper even with the parachute money

I’ll be gutted if we don’t /  can’t sign him on a permanent.

If we manage to get him for pre-season he'll be on finishing drills all over the summer and wouldnt be surprised to see him get 5 or so next year
It's that easy, finishing drills lol! What is all the fuss about his finishing, he's a wing back, he can cross a ball and that throw is a weapon, yes please for next season

Must go for him, would be a key player next season.
