Well batted Ben. Can 9,10 and Jack eke out 24 more runs for another batting point and to increase our lead?

Len 399 means nothing, other than it massively improves chances of winning the game.  400, then a draw does it.

If I’ve got my maths right, Kent are six points ahead as it stands? Getting to 350 would mean only 7 ahead, while getting to 400 would mean being 8 points ahead and where it would make a meaningful difference to the equation since it’s 16 points for a win, 8 for a draw. Or is there a miscalculation in there?

400 is definitely the magic number but seems unlikely. 350 would still be good though in the case of potential over rate penalties

I thought we had 326 hence 24 for a 3rd batting point to add to the cushion for a probable points deduction for a slow over rate.

At the end of the day, as long as Northants lose everything else becomes irrelevant. With a net lead of 32, just 5 wickets in hand and three bunnies at 9,10, jack, it would be quite a feat for them to get that win.

All out. 124 ahead. It would be lovely to get 3 or 4 wickets tonight....

That was a brute of a delivery by Milnes. His 50th wicket this summer. Well played MM.
  • AA, with apologies,  because you may have covered this in the thread, and an obvious question, but why aren't Kent considering Ferns.

Has to be our POTY doesn't he? 50 wickets at 20.98 plus 291 runs, vital ones on occasions too.

I think he's very much come from left field. Yes he's bowled very well in the KPL in the last two years (and was top wicket taker last year) but his FC stats (117 wickets at 34.58) don't match any of the overseas we've utilised. We should also remember that Middlesex, given their financial plight, are fishing in an even smaller pool than we are.

Glamorgan (the side that were out for 65 and 69 a couple of games ago) 505 all out. In reply, Essex are 55-5!

Mine too. I'm not going to say who is getting my Young POTY (359 runs at 25.64 and 17 wickets at 34.35) and leave the members of CL guessing albeit that Dawkins (387 runs at 35.18) would have given my selection some stiff competition had he not fallen away in the latter half of the season.

My YPOTY has just dropped a catch at backward point. Might have to change my vote!
