We could know our destiny by lunchtime tomorrow.
  • Gloucs haven't officially replaced him. They've just been using a sub fielder. They can still replace him but it would have to be a like-for-like player. As they don't have a keeper/batter there, as far as I'm aware, I'm not sure that they would get away with replacing him with a batter. Would seem harsh if they can't given batting is every modern day keeper their primary skill.
I expect Jack Russell to be dragged away from his easel to keep tomorrow  ;)
  • Wow. Northants 73 runs ahead with 3 weak wickets.  We would have taken that. Deep pleasure

Glamorgan (the side that were out for 65 and 69 a couple of games ago) 505 all out. In reply, Essex are 55-5!
Essex are an absolute mess. Could easily sleepwalk to relegation next season if they don't fix their batting problems besides Charlie Allison and Matt Critchley.

Age has caught up with Simon Harmer at last too.

Muyeye coming on to bowl the final over of the day because the umpires won't allow seamers bowling in the current light

I'm going to the game tomorrow, will be my first visit. Can I bring my own beers into the ground with me, and can you leave the ground and come back in throughout the day? Cheers

You can take in either four cans or one bottle of wine. You can leave and re-enter as your ticket is scanned upon entry and exit but I'm not sure you will be allowed to re-enter with another lot of alcohol.

Looks like the balance is in our favour?

However even if Northants are bowled out with a lead of say, 150, do we think Middlesex can reach that?

At the same time, if Gloucester don't gain much more than a lead of say, 150, do we think Kent can achieve that.

I have to say, I don't feel confident either way but considering I'm generally a pessimist, no surprises there.

The true odds of both Gloucs and Northants winning (a draw isn't going to happen in either game) is probably in excess of 16/1. So that means there is less than a 6% chance of us not gaining promotion.

Crawley drops a catch at slip in the first over

This has happened before. Benjamin and Crawley have to sort it out too. Benjamin feigns to go for it, then leaves it and Crawley goes for it late. It was probably Benjamin's catch but Crawley has to assume, because it is so close to him, that it is his catch.

Zaib then hits a six next ball. There is a delay as the Middlesex fielders can't find the ball in the stands!
