" Sadly" we didn't make it to Canterbury tonight as the ridiculously hot weather wore us down, but watched the debacle via the stream.
Chalk & cheese is the phrase that comes to mind tonight.
Can only hope lessons have been learned the hard way & that we're able to bounce back

Awful display, every player had an off night, and the game management was awful, surely the players know how to play a canterbury wicket better than that, need to move on and come back on Sunday1
-
Although our batting performance was woeful, with the exception of Derbyshire, most of the teams batting first tonight failed to post a really challenging total and lost most of their wickets in the process of trying to set a score:
Kent 129-9 (Lost)
Derbyshire 234-4 (Won)
Yorkshire 151-9 (Won)
Lancashire 145-9 (Lost)
Warwickshire 141 all out (Lost)
Somerset 171-9 (Lost)
Gloucestershire 164-9 (Lost)
Surrey 174-8 (Lost)
Surrey losing too also means that no team in our division has more points than us and only Northants and Yorkshire, of the 18 teams, are still unbeaten. All is certainly not lost and the good news is that, unlike previous years, there is competition for places.
There is an expectation that our top order should perform better but I really do think that we need a proper batter at 7 (who can bowl too) and that probably has to be one of Evison, Foreman or Ekansh. Then having Lintott, Rogers (or Dudgeon for that matter), Milnes and Klaassen (or Cohen) doesn't look quite so fragile. Bringing in Parkinson to bowl a couple of overs doesn't seem to help the bowling and certainly not the batting line up.3 -
WOW ! Glad I came out from behind the sofa & read your post, AA !
I gave up on checking the other T20 scores when our match finished last night when it seemed that Surrey were on target to win their game.
Realising once more that I WAS that "me of little faith Lifer " just now has cheered me up immensely !
Dare I even venture to add that I'm looking forward to tomorrow's encounter at The Oval ?

Second consecutive ton for Ben Dawkins for Tunbridge Wells today.7

Ekansh (30) was second top scorer to Rehan Ahmed (44) out of the Lions second innings total of 158 against South Africa A. He scored 125 runs in the match with no other player making even 50 in total.5

Bilbo's talk in the pre-match huddle:
"Ok lads, don't bugger this up against the Slurrey Brownshorts like you did the other day against the Essex Beagles.
Plenty of shots!"

Yas Rana on the stream sharing a little bit of info I didn’t know. Dudgeon was initially recommended to Crawley by Joe Root so we have him to thank for the rhino0
-
Dudgeon gets Jacks for a duck after a fantastic opening over! 1/14
-
Muyeye is out because of the head injury he sustained against Essex and is replaced by Finch. Dudgeon comes in for Rogers and the batting is further strengthened with Benjamin for Parkinson. That does mean that our bowling is limited to five frontline bowlers plus Denly.1
-
7/1 off 2 after a Milnes over1
-
Pope with two fours in the over to pretty much the same place. Dudgeon responds well and they’re the only runs of the over. 15/10
-
Klaasen into the attack. Goes for ten in the over. 25/1 and a decent start here for Kent1
-
Pope hits straight to the fielder off the bowling of Milnes for 10. 26/24
-
Think we might have done better to keep agent Pope in!!!0
-
31/2 after 51
-
Blimey, monster six from Curran0

Dudgeon recovers well though and only concedes another three, 40/2 at the end of the power play0

We need to get Lintott signed permanently3
-
Lintott gets Curran for 14! 44/33
