Excellent. We could do with thumping Surrey to improve our NRR, which is still negative as the very poor defeat to Gloucs badly affected it.

We've now chased 255, 314 & 294. In the previous two seasons we were successful just three times in total and that was with scores of 247, 207 & 170. Just shows how we have improved as a team. Yes Gloucs was a poor effort but we were definitely on the wrong end of an awful deck against Lancs.

Of the nine teams in our division, all have lost at least two matches which is indicative of how open the competition is.

We could do with thumping Surrey full stop !!!!! Can't wait :p

WOW ! Now I know what taking it to the wire REALLY means !

SO proud again ! This is becoming a very pleasing habit.

And REALLY pleased that Peter G has watched every ball, in person !

Hoping this is positively affecting your health, dear fellow Lifer <3

    Thanks so much Fanny.

I do wonder if I should be putting my dicky ticker through these dramas. But I have really enjoyed the last three home games. They do leave me a bit cream crackered but at my age they that’s no great surprise. What else would I be doing? Sitting at home reading the rumours thread?

I’m away next weekend so won’t be able to go to Beckenham for the Leics game, but I’m all set for the Oval with a good pal on Wednesday, and I’m planning to be at the Warwickshire game at Rugby School next Tuesday. A family day for four Addicks with my two sons and my grandson.

    CoyK and CoyA.

Same 14-man squad for tomorrow's game against Surrey. One suspects that Milnes and Dudgeon will come back for Quinn and Evison though there is a question mark about Milnes as he is recovering from illness.

Kent U18s are playing their counterparts at Sussex in a 3-day game. Kent are currently 334-5 (70).

The previously mentioned in despatches, 17 year-old Leo Selvey-Clinton, has just got out for 162 (206) and earlier Ollie Butterfill made 94 (105).

Don't recognise too many of that Sussex side bar Copplestone,Trainer ,Moore and Lawrence.

Won't be helped by Freddie Price,Toby Munt and Ollie Kirtley being with the first team.

Will be surprised if we don’t see Selvey-Clinton in the England under 19s side soon, picks up length incredibly well

Great news to start the day. Kent won the toss and elected to bowl. And Milnes and Dudgeon both play instead of Evison and Quinn.

A bit greener than Beckenham. And there are a few drops of rain in the air.

And the start has been delayed by this torrential rain. Well I have felt at least three drops on my arms.
    Nonsense.

    Any relation to Grahame Clinton?

There doesn't appear to be a live scorecard anywhere either - on the Kent site, NV cricket, Cricinfo etc

Grandson. Leo's father is Richard who played for Essex. He is a more aggressive batter than either of them. Such is the modern expectation.

Absolutely ridiculous that there is zero minutes allowance for a delay.

As long as it is more than 100 deliveries per side

Surrey have five left-handers in their team (four of their top six in fact). We have one. Oh for an off spinner!

Most limited over formats have a leeway of between 30 and 60 minutes before overs are reduced. This is a 50 over match and everything should be done to ensure that. We only lost 10 minutes!

Not the best of starts from us but the pitch, as usual, does look a bit of a road
