    I share your apprehension, but 356 in a fourth innings will be an exceptional chase. I still fancy our boys to do the job tomorrow, but it will take a bit more discipline than the bowlers showed this evening.

    I reckon that umpire might have a train to catch. Given how many lbw decisions that haven’t been given that looked a tad high, and Gohar definitely didn’t like it. We’ll certainly take it. Quinn has been on the spot this morning.

    It's incredible to think that we are almost in September and spinners have taken just 7 of the 137 wickets we have taken in the CC this season. Deadly Derek would be despairing at the calendar imposed on spinners in the CC by the ECB.

    I suspect that Deadly would be getting a few more overs than our current spinners. He was almost medium pace with quite a long run up for a spinner. And of course, in his prime, he would definitely be centrally contracted.

    Painful. Parky has hardly bowled, is the pitch not helping the spinners at all, as on day 4 after all the hot weather, you'd expect the spinner to be the key bowler?

    Although it's not "ragging" there is some turn. The issue with Parkinson is that he is so slow in the air that batters have a lot of time to decide whether to go back or forward. That said, there has been plenty in the wicket for the seamers.

    Those 57 runs (vs our 9) in extras in our respective first innings eventually proved the difference between the sides.

    Had to pop out so I couldn’t watch the stream after lunch. Delighted that Parkinson has finished the job for us.

    Even if we don't go up, we have come a long way this year. We finished bottom with two wins from 14 matches last season and have already had five wins from nine games with just the one defeat.
