Rodwell - Luke Chambers was always our first choice 🤣🤣🤣
Clear from Rodwell’s later comments that Liverpool weren’t prepared to let him leave until he cleared certain thresholds in training and minutes for their U21s etc.

If he was truly our number 1 target then it makes sense that we would have waited for Liverpool to be satisfied. Otherwise we move on to target 2 or 3 or 4.
If an inexperienced, injury prone player is/was our number 1 choice who the hell was our target 2/3& 4 ? Phil Warman ?
Maybe wait to see him play before you write him off?

That's a rather radical approach - it won't catch on.

@aliwibble that's the whole video, did you try to post a shorter clip?.

It's worth people seeing how Ed Warrick answers. That boy has clearly been on a lot of media training courses. He may therefore just be being prudent on camera, but I fear we see why we still have no answers from the Met, whereas just a letter from Chelsea Supporters Trust triggers a full internal Met inquiry into the complaints.

I don’t care if I’m shot down here, but people want to have questions answered, they in the main I would say are being quite honest and upfront and giving they’re time to do these things, however most of the posts are of sly little digs, or smartarse comments or just straight up saying they are talking bollox. I think sometimes people need to be cut some slack.ultimately if we’d continued with early season results people would have a lot less to bitch about. I think they covered a lot of subjects obviously there are going to be people that don’t like what they hear, others may like it. I believe the owners and everyone running things have the clubs best interest at heart. So stick that in ya pipe!!😜
I totally agree and its almost like a sport to some people. It's quite easy to bash Charlton, they are not Arsenal or Man City, and it's the easiest job in the world to be a critic. I think if these events didnt happen you would have the same people screaming, 'see told ya Shit club, shit fan engagement' but I will grant you that sometimes it's hard to see positives, especially taking into account the teams form since November. But what we all expect is that if something is wrong, then there is a process in place to put it right, lets hope that is the same for the team as it is for the club, they have given indications tonight that they making strides to fix the problems, if they don't then you can rightly criticise.

If that's true he would have been in the door by the end of the first week, not in time for Coventry, but in by Blackburn. Worst case scenario he would have been in before the Chelsea game and training with the squad for 2 weeks
Not if Liverpool blocked the deal .. Chambers was mentioned few weeks back as being our target but for whatever reason it was blocked at Liverpool end
Yes, that is what Rodwell intimated.
We couldn't have him on loan until they were happy with everything.

Is he inexperienced ? Yes. Is he injury prone ? Well he's had two pretty long lay offs with his back problem & hasn't actually played a competitive game since April 2025. Where have I written him off ? I pointed out his inexperience when most of us seem to agree that in this relegation fight that we are facing, experienced championship players are required to pull us through. We already have enough defenders who are an accident waiting to happen, do we really need another ? A youngster who hasn't played a competitive game in 9 months & you're wondering why I'm concerned that Luke Chambers was always our first choice ?

But but but that can't be true as our recruitment were doing nothing to recruit a LB until today, Golfie said so

Both Rodwell and Carter confirmed that the football KPI is based solely on points.

Rodwell implied that he didn’t care how we played and 50 points was the target.

We really are making it difficult for ourselves at the moment though, sounds a bit contradictory to say we deserved a point after being 2 down.

I don’t think football club ownership is treating Gavin Carter too well. He looks rough as old boots!
Probably a combination of jet lag and being out celebrating Peter Garland's birthday after the Derby game....

I have a friend who  is telling me to look at his pedigree.
Liverpool u21 player who hasn’t played a competitieve since April 2025.

Yet another player who we have to be concerned about , will he make it to the 60th minute , let alone to the end of the game.

He should care. We ain’t getting 50 points playing like this. I think he said 52.

He was basically saying he doesn’t care how we play as long as we reach the points needed whatever it may be to stay up.which is fair enough.

I think he will be managed Lewis, none of us are too sure what else will happen in the window and I certainly haven't heard an estimate of Amari Bell's absence, but we look a very different side with him in it.

So what did we learn / get confirmed:

    1. Edward’s won’t play again this season
    2. maybe (and only maybe) 1 or 2 still to come in but some will go out
    3. long list of things to fix / improve in and around the stadium but won’t spend hugely whilst we don’t own it - maybe the PA system will get looked at this summer
    4. CEO interviews ongoing but didn’t sound convinced the right person has been found yet
    5. The dead pigeons will be there until at least the summer - needs a cherry picker on the pitch to gain access
    6. Will Abbot not being replaced - we have enough staff in the wider back room team
    7. Women’s team will be supported - a big interest from the US owners
    8. Former players dinner / event in the offing / not sure yet on a player of the season dinner
    9. We have only the 3rd lowest playing budget - I thought it was suggested (but may have misinterpreted) on that basis NJ is only expected to avoid relegation
    10. some squad acquisitions are with an eye on the future and not just the current season - I think Apter was referred / implied to be in this context (at least stated if not believed)

He said we have the third lowest player budget in the Championship, we Know Wednesday have the lowest, so who is the other club below us.

Anyone else pick up on Gavin Carter saying his ambition for Charlton is for us to be the 4th biggest team in London.  No timeframe on that one though.

Definitely will be Pompey. All their owners money is going into the ground not the playing staff.
