I don't usually  think much of Jones' tactics (mainly cause I struggle to find any)
But I've got a feeling his random football is just what's needed tomorrow.

    Great preview as always FA.

Ever since I started supporting Charlton in the 60s I think i have only missed 2 games against the spanners.
    One at the valley
    One at the Den.
It's a game I always try to get to and I shall be there Saturday to support us.
I always go to these games with a mixture of hope and trepidation and Saturday will be no different.
As for the game Millwall are a much better team than us at the moment and what with our record against them logic says they will win.
But against all odds I'm hoping we can put in a huge effort in front of a packed away end and get a result
    Millwall 1 Charlton 1
    Keep the faith.

I don't do blind faith or have rose tinted bins, but this is one of the rare occasions I have a strong feeling we're going to win.
The odds and form are against us but I live in hope.
Should we do the business can everybody remember what they have posted recently about Jones.
I take the opposite view. If you go into it with absolutely zero hope we'll get anything and expect a comfortable Millwall win then if we do somehow manage to get anything it's a pleasant surprise.

2-0 Millwall, toilets will get smashed up, someone will throw a seat or a flare on the pitch and by Sunday there will be a 30 page thread moaning about the police and how we were kept in for ages, and why can't Millwall be kept in at the Valley.

As other pundits have opined, why sit back to an inevitable defeat? Up and at 'em with emphasis on how WE play not them. so 3-4-3

    Kaminski
    Burke Jones Chambers
    Clarke Coventry Rankin-Costello
    Apter Dyke Godden

    Finishers @ 65 minutes
    Fullah,Carey, Leaburn, Campbell, Ramsay

Worth a try especially as everyone else is EXPECTING a thrashing what ever team we put out!
Going to be hard enough without starting with 10 men

I remember having food poisoning in Egypt. The most agonising cramps, sickness and diarrhoea imaginable. Begging and bartering for medicine. Having as much control over my bowels as Stevie Wonder would driving an F1 car. The towel-art swan looking like it had been dredged from a muddy canal.

I suspect I’ll look back on that experience more fondly than I will this game.
This is brilliant.  The poor Egyptian service staff going that little bit further to add those little extras so they can secure a good review and adhere to impeccable standards set by the hotel manager, only for it to be totally destroyed in the most uncouth fashion

It's Egypt. I'm sure they are used to it. I always said I'd never go back after a similar experience. However I'd happily go for the day tomorrow to avoid the inevitable.

Games like tomorrow's are what it's all about.

Someone's got to win it so why not us.

As long as the players show some bollocks and turn up I'll be happy regardless of whether we win or not.

Sadly this will be lambs to the slaughter.

We can’t score at home let alone away, 2 at Blackburn and 3 at Ipswich. They will score more than 2 as we are shocking at the back or leaving a free man at a corner.

Luckily I’m taking my kids to the Harry Potter shop in York so can try and avoid it as best I can. Muted my Millwall mates too 😂

Don't think it's quite sunk in how shit we are yet. A Millwall win by any way they want.

All eyes on QPR at home for me where we have half a chance.

If we are drawing with a few minutes of the game left, we need to start singing “ We never win at the rusty toolbox.”

We've scored in 10 of our last 11 games. Scoring isn't the problem, scoring more than 1 goal is.

We can only win if it's 1-0. Generally if the opposition score 1 we might nick a draw but if they score twice we are fucked.

EDIT: Just checked, we've scored more than 1 goal on just 4 occasions. Blackburn home and away, Sheff Weds (who are the worst championship side of all time) and the freak win at Ipswich.

Either we miraculously win or, more likely, we play Lloyd Jones to try and get a point, he gets injured and is out for the season and we still lose anyway. Whichever

Worse... We'll be winning... Lloyd Jones will get injured in the 96th minute, we'll lose 2-1 and he'll be out for the season

A lot of people will disagree with me, but despite his flaws I would start Karoy Anderson. The reasons are he won’t give up, he takes the pain, he is a fan like us. If the overall scenario is one where some of our players go into their shell and avoid the ball, at least Anderson won’t do that.

At least Amari’i Bell played against Chelsea, that was a much more important fixture to keep the goals against column down in

Agree.  I think they need to be mindful of putting in a spirited performance, particularly Jones.

Based on here expectation to get a result is minimal, but I sense a few in the fanbase are starting to get frustrated with how we set up.  If we don’t turn up 2mo and are on the end of a 3/4-0, I think it will get quite difficult for Jones and leading to some of the fans turning.

So far this season, we’ve had a good togetherness on the whole and even when the chips were down, the team managed to respond (Birmingham away & Coventry at home for example).

I don’t know how you get players to raise their game for a game like this as let’s face it, they’re professionals, not fans, this is ultimately just another league game (despite what might be said in the build up).  They should be up for it, but that’s doesn’t mean they will.

I also think that Jones is really going to sit in 2mo.  It’s his preferred style anyway, but I think he’s sees this as doing everything we can not to get beat, as opposed to trying to win it.  Given the long term goal of not getting relegated versus beating them, of course winning would be good, but I think we’ll get a tactical war of attrition type set up and hope we don’t concede.
Whether that’s the right or wrong approach, I’m sure will be deliberated on here in depthly after the game
