Collins or Sichenje, seems like there’s still confusion by some of our fan base.🤔

I hate to break it to you but his name is Collins Lusaka Sichenje
So how about CLS0 -
Just posted about this on his thread.AddicksAddict said:How about BFK?

Disrespectful imo. Call him by his surname which we do for 90% of the players or by a moniker which we do for the other 10%. Only player I recall being called by his first name is Sir Clive.......and he earned that one.6 -

I think Golfy is right. Nicknames come about naturally as a result of some particular incident or circumstance. And when done with affection for the person, that is absolutely fine. Trying to manufacture one, rather than showing the respect of learning someone's real name doesn't sit well with me, no matter how well intentioned. Sichenje is his name, that's what I'll be using.7

Collins, far easier to say and remember, like Tanto (who ?)1
-
See-CHEN-Jay is how it's pronounced btw, with emphasis on the Chen.
Collins is easier to type and say, so I reckon he'll be called Collins a lot.
There's been loads of players that have been referred to by their first name, Naby, Macca for Gillesphey, Reza, Igor, Tanto, Chuks...2 -

Hmmm. I do see your point, but most of the above acquired their CL name over time or as @Stig said due to some (in)famous incident.sam3110 said:See-CHEN-Jay is how it's pronounced btw, with emphasis on the Chen.

That's right. "Sir" Clive was the only person that was ever referred to by his first name. Just ask Yann, Hermann, Claus, Radostin, Sam...golfaddick said:

Sichenje - it’s not that hard.4

Yes, but the common way of referring to footballers is by their surname. It seems to me that using Collins would be preferable to making something up. Best of all though would be to show him the courtesy of learning his surname and addressing him in the same manner as most other players. I've no problem with using Collins as time goes by, but not for reasons of laziness.EugenesAxe said:

Seems like there’s divided opinion.
I am convinced that over the last few days a significant number of posters on several forums think his name (as in surname), is Collins.
That’s pretty much why I asked the question……....as going forward it might get somewhat confusing.0 -

His name is hardly unpronounceable, all the “just call him Bob” stuff is proper cringe.3

as someone said on another thread, Phil. Or let’s see what the players come up with. If Chambers is Chambo then I think Collins is likely to become something equally original like Collo.0

A word on apostrophes. Remember the grammar police will hunt you down. When referring to something that belongs to one person named Collins, the most common and accepted rule is toadd an apostrophe followed by another 's'.
- Preferred: Collins**'s** (e.g., Collins's house, Collins's book)
- Also acceptable: Collins**'** (e.g., Collins' house)
Both are grammatically acceptable, but adding the 's (Collins's) is generally preferred in modern usage because it reflects how the name is pronounced (Col-lin-siz).Key Takeaways:- Singular (one person): Collins's
- Plural (the whole family): The Collinses' house
- Consistency: Choose one method and use it throughout your writing.
Note: In some cases, such as classical or biblical names (e.g., Socrates'), only an apostrophe is used, but for a surname like Collins, adding 's is standard.0 -
Bootsy.
And I haven't even seen him play yet.2 -

I dunno - Vetokele was called Ventokele on here….Harriott always has an S slung on the end of his name and Ramsay seems to have replaced the 2nd a with an e.Callumcafc said:Sichenje - it’s not that hard.
