No, they are too busy heading up ITV Sports nowadays.golfaddick said:

I detest adverts with a passion. I hardly watch Amazon Prime TV now because of the adverts. I hardly watch live tv because of the adverts, and i watch on catch-up (but even they now have ads you can't skip).
This trial will only go one way from here
Are PG still using monkeys in their ads ??1 -
A good reason why the BBC shouldn't be defunded is that it keeps consumer expectations high and sets standards for other networks.
Cutting away from the actual action during a game is a terrible experience for viewers. Many countries have split screen ads whilst sport is in-play which is slightly better but still a bit crap.7 -
American sports are designed around advertising. Real sports aren't.sam3110 said:If you're accustomed to watching American sports like I am then it won't bother you that much.
Nearly all football fans sit in a sponsored stadium and stare at ad boards for 90 mins every game anyway, the main difference is on TV you can see the ads on the shirts and shorts better!12 -
Oh well. I'm going to be recording the rugby on ITV and ensuring I don't watch one of the bloody adverts. Which means a late night tonight...0

Just saw it. Split screen….live match on half, advert on the other half.1
-
I Turned it over as soon as that came on but unfortunately I was then confronted with Neville Neville on dragons den0

First ad claiming nothing can get you closer to the action than some phone, while minimising the action so we’re further away.
Genius of the first order.

I was watching something on itv the other day and ahalf page ad came up for something on itv later that evening.
Really fucking annoying because it was an important part of the program i was watching
Do it properly and people won't notice if it's brief but if people start missing goals or key moments in games then there will be tvs getting smashed0 -
Not a bad idea, but if you are watching an England World Cup match you might hear neighbours celebrate a goal before you see it.golfaddick said:

Was it Everton Liverpool years ago in a cup game where ITV went to a ad break during extra time and missed something important? Or am I imagining it3

Terrestrial TV does not make big returns for what business needs / expects.EastTerrace said:

Pure rent seeking by corporations, no value added just ways to extract more money. As I understand advertising revenue has slipped with the advent of streaming and social media. It’s inevitable they need to try and hook in advertisers with a new offering.ITV remains free to air so it’s hard to complain too much when they compete with subscription services.Economic reality more than ‘greed’.1 -

No, this happened - went to an advert break in error & missed an Everton goal by Dan Gosling I recallBigRedEvil said:Was it Everton Liverpool years ago in a cup game where ITV went to a ad break during extra time and missed something important? Or am I imagining it1 -
Yeah, we were at a big bbq party round a friends. It was only the relatively new HD broadcast that had the issue. Suddenly the football went off air then 20 seconds later everyone watching on a ‘normal’ tv in the other rooms started cheering.SuedeAdidas said:100% was an England WC goal. Yes, the game went to extra time, in the middle a scheduled advert came on, went back and there was a pile of Everton players celebrating.NorthStandUltra said:

Having more ads on TV will encourage people to go to the game and see it for real without the ads!
So it's a good thing because that's what we all want isn't it?

The ad revenue the broadcasters make keeps sports viable for free to air broadcast. As the streaming services have far deeper pockets than itv, the access to sport for free on tv will keep reducing. Whilst it might be a little inconvenient, its far better than having the six nations on Premier sport!1

This:
I enjoy Dramas and I have gone back to Recording the 2 hours dramas on the commercial stations so I can fast forward through the 20 minutes of adverts.
