1 min to go in the half and England in possesion.
A couple of drives from the forwards and then kick it out. Job done.
No, we kick it away, end up conceding a penalty try and a yellow card. Brain dead.

It was infuriating, literally just run through a handful of phases with the ball and kick it out when the clock is red. Instead we conceded points and lose a man to the bin, utter shambles.

I will take losing that match purely for the way Ireland have had that title taken from them. Incredibly funny/brutal

  • I'm no rugby expert but why oh why did that English player kick the ball when there were only 90 seconds left? Surely they could have kept it and crashed into some tackles for that time then kicked it out?

Why kick and give possession away with less than two minutes to go with such a narrow lead?

Fortune just beat me to saying the same!

England did the exactly the same thing in the first half.

You don't have to know a lot about rugby, to understand that the 2 incredible decisions made at the end of each half cost England the game.
(And Chessum not making the conversion a formality when he went through)

Enjoyed it but couldn't tell the teams apart. There seem to a. lot of stern looking men with computers but the games are settled by players doing incomprehensibly stupid things. Bizarre but fun.

And the ref giving a non existent high tackle at the end.

Frustrating though - so much improved and yet still shot ourselves in the foot in about 5 different ways to let them back in.

Fancy scoring 46 points away from home. England are Huddersfield.

England almost beat the eventual champions, whilst their only win was against a team who won the wooden spoon.

Double jeopardy with the penalty try seemed a bit harsh.

If there is a knock on, and the opposition clearly gain possession of the ball, that should be that, no penalty thirty seconds later when they lose it again.

All in all, a brilliant tournament. The staggered start to games on super Saturday is so much better than all the games kicking off at the same time.

That was a mad one!? The bloke was clean through and even started celebrating before putting it down and just ran it into the corner rather than going towards the posts. Missed the kick and lost 2 points!

Was at the match, never been to Stade de France before, great stadium, very hospitable home fans, very drunk england fans in the main.

Fantastic play by England throughout much if the match with some inexplicably poor decision making immediately before half time (overkick to lose possession and come under pressure, give away penalty try and a sin bin) and just before full time (kick away possession, come under pressure, get pinged, probably wrongly and lose).

Still it was only for pride for us and we acquitted ourselves well, were pleased for our hosts that they won. Sorry Ireland 😀

It is in memory of the 1st ever France/England game when the light blue was the shirt colour of the French .. I think 100 years ago ?? .. that needs checking

So not the memory of Crystal Palace wearing light blue in their first ever league game in 1643?

Think it was 120 years, England could have worn a different colour shirt.
