The better team for most of the game, but  completely overrun in the last 10 minutes,  so a draw seems fair.

As others have said, some baffling use of the bench tonight. Replacing Doc with Berry was a nonsense decision,  especially when he left the leggy Coady and Carey on, resulting in us being completely overrun in midfield.  And because our 3 subs were made in 3 windows,  we couldn't then bring anyone else on.

Dykes was excellent at both ends of the pitch, probably the first choice striker at the moment. Both keepers were good tonight.

Our January signings have made us inarguably a far, far better side. That cannot be remotely in dispute
The ones that played tonight have, but I doubt Fevrier will pull up many trees & we still lack pace & a driving force in midfield.

It's taken a slight injury to Leaburn to leave us with no real options (or pace) up front. Godden, Dykes & Kelman are all too similar & 2 of them have had injuries this season which has left them short of pace and lacking an edge.

Didnt think I'd ever say this but Dykes was the better striker out of the 3 tonight.

Woke up for the last 35 minutes.
    Good result I suppose.
    Hard work.
    Not much play.
    QPR nothing special.
    We also nothing too special.
    Good morning

  • The ball wouldn't drop our way in their box in the first half, and we needed it to.

Second half we missed Leaburn, QPR looked comfortable.

Given the meh performance, happy enough with a point.

    Positives:

    - Another point on the board.
    - Excellent first half.
    - New signings have all in their own right been excellent since they’ve come in.
    - Jones pocketed Kone again.

    Negatives:

    - Last 15 minutes were painful.
    - The subs are simply brain dead at times. He waits too long and then when he finally gives in, makes the wrong one. Midfield was non-existent as the game went on so he decides to bring on the slowest and weakest midfielder we have.
    - Today was screaming for Karoy Anderson towards the end to provide some legs and energy to our midfield. Letting him go without an adequate replacement was a terrible decision.

All in all, after our first half it does feel like 2 points lost but given the capitulation in last 15 minutes or so of the game, a draw was probably a fair result.

    I thought it was a decent 0-0.

If you can’t win, don’t lose. Take the point and 4 from the last two with a couple of clean sheets thrown in.

Good first half performance. At least we are creating more chances now. Leaburn a big miss. Hope he is back next Wednesday. Thought Dykes had a good game. Another point. UTA

I haven't seen a worse sub appearance than TC's tonight. One burst of energy in the opening 30 seconds, then absolutely nothing from him afterwards, just moped about the pitch, staying back when he should be attacking, then drifting forward aimlessly just as we lose it to be out of position.

When the ball did find him, he managed to pick the wrong option EVERY single time.

    Just awful
    Totally agree.

Only time he took on his man was in the first 30 secs of coming on, then spent the rest of the evening tapping the ball back to Bell or Doc.
I don't think TC was the problem, I think bringing him on at LWB was. He was clearly really, really worried about being caught out on the transition. There were a couple of occasions when he could have run his man and didn't but mostly he was given a difficult job to do just as QPR were in the ascendancy. TC should have come on for Kelman, Godden didn't offer much, and more importantly didn't offer something different to Kelman which TC would have. Freed of defensive responsibility I think he would have played less cautiously. I think Jones got that wrong, it should have been TC for Kelman and Fevrier for Chambers

Decent for 60 mins. Having said that, I am still not happy with that midfield, especially at home. We desperately need a genuine physical, box to bix player in there. Should be near the top of our summer shopping list.

From 70 mins onwards we collectively looked exhausted. I absolutely cannot fathom leaving the midfield 3 out there for as long as Jones did - not like he didn't have options on the bench. It very nearly cost us the game as the gap between midfield and defensive got bigger and bigger.

Utterly insane bringing Berry on for Docherty.

Liked the Dykes and Kelman combination. Fingers crossed they get some more minutes. If we stay up, I hope we can work something out with Dykes as he fits the Jones style perfectly. Once he gets properly up to speed I think there is more to come from him.

It has already been said, but wow, how bad was Campbell when he came on? Looked utterly dis-interested.

Carey is in credit, but bloody hell did he burn through some of that this evening. Genuinely brainless performance from him.

Chambers offers good balance, but strikes me as more of a full back than a wing back. We did look horribly unbalanced when he went off though. If he can't do more than 70/75 mins at the moment I think Fevrier is a better bet to keep the balance in the side.

If you had offered me 4 points from the last 2 games I would have taken it, but it's incredibly frustrating that we haven't been unable to build on a perhaps unexpected 3 points at Leicester.

Had Jones been smarter with his subs I think we would have nicked it and certainly wouldn't have been hanging on like we were at the end.

I was at the game and delighted we got a point against a team clearly better balanced than ours.

What I saw tonight validates my views about:

    - our weak midfield [in an attacking sense]
    - our pattern of play is now way too obvious and one dimensional
    - our lack of balance across the squad
    - NJs weak game management and substitutions ability

Can’t fault the effort tonight, but we do look a little too predictable.

So much to change this summer, whether we stay up or not.

If we stay up we need to spend about 20 million to bring this up to a competitive Championship squad.

When we have all the personal fit and in their correct slots we look solid and capable.

As soon as we tire or need to make changes we look utterly exposed and very likely to concede.

Stay up and spend significantly is the only part forward, we are not going to get lucky.

And Jones' interview is right we have jumped up a level and the personelle represents that hence why good performers in league one have be shipped back out and more seasoned operators brought in or clear talent like Chambers.

If we can get the loans for for 90 mins and we play like that we will stay up.

Then we must spend too avoid being in this situation again.

Fairly positive overall after that, could be a very important point. It just wasn’t our night in front of goal, lots of half chances that frustratingly we snatched at again and again with most sailing upwards and over the bar.
I generally try not to single players out or criticise but Campbell looked completely uninterested tonight which really concerned me, he was just wandering around not looking like he knew what to do or where he should be and it was him losing the ball towards the half way line that led directly to their best chance, huge save from Kaminski there too.
Coady hugely impressive first half but faded in the 2nd, could be so important for the run in though, it’s not going to be pretty or much fun but I think we’re gonna be alright.

Every substitution seemed to make us worse. We missed Leaburn as Godden is still getting back up to speed. Why JRC wasn't brought on instead of Berry... Insane, but thankfully didn't cost us.
Worth remembering that we dont know what would have happened had JRC been brought on. We bemoan the Berry change, but nothing to say that JRC wouldn't have had a moment that would have proved even more costly had he come on. Hindsight is a beautiful gift, not that I mean it as a criticism as works the other way too
Frustrating we didn't take the chances that came out way. But Jones did his job as Manager tonight
at least JRC can run, berry moved like a limp dog
I can f**king well run... Stick me out there then ;)
I can't run my name is Luke Berry

Five available changes and he uses three and we spend the last 20 minutes hanging on, unable to move around the pitch. Honestly, Jones has some explaining to do
agreed at home and let them get the upper hand no legs or quality in the centre plus carey snatching at shots, let's bring on berry that will change things 🤔

Very good performance again 80 mins we were by far the better side , but we seen to hit the wall and looked leggy after giving everything we had .. Kaminski Doc outstanding .. Dykes and Kelman really worked the defence , think taking Kelman off was the turning point .. we seem to suffer without his running .. once again question marks over dangerous challenges on Coady .. again Mike Dean on Sky said it should have been red …. But their keeper gets MOM think that tells you who was most dominant..

Got some 6 pointers coming up versus the other teams down with us.

I fear we lack the quality going forward to score the goals required to win.

Cant rely on sendings off all the time

I actually don't blame Berry for that showing. Yes he was bloody awful, but he was so far from the midfielder that we needed at that moment in time it was actually laughable. We were utterly under the cosh, couldn't keep the ball and took off a player who does the dirty work and breaks up play and replaced him with someone who is a peripheral figure when played in his actual position.

I thought we were unlucky but seem to have found our solidity. We were the only winners in that game but didn't score. Then when we tried to make late changes it didn't help us but we had to try it. I thought their yellow could have been a red very easily as whilst I'm sure there was no intent, it was dangerous having his boot that high with studs showing. Dangerous being the step up from reckless. It felt they were getting a bit of luck how the ball fell and when it did fall for us their keeper made a great save. We should have been at least 1 up but when that didn't happen we tried to force things late on that worked against us. Still I think if we are not yet back on track, we are close.

Sorry but why are you defending that performance of TC, we wasn’t getting many chances 2nd half, if the ball was to drop for TC or Godden I know who I would put my money on to score, so no way should TC been on for Kelman. If TC wants game time, he’s going to have to be better in the role he is being asked to play, he couldn’t pass wind tonight let alone the ball.

Hard fought point. Difficult conditions against a strong physical opponent. Based on the first half I was disappointed with a point but on the balance of the whole 90, it’s a good point in my opinion.

Stoke is a free hit. Pompey is fucking huge!
No such thing as a free hit. As we only drew tonight we really need all 3 points against Stoke. Not doing so will put even more pressure on the Pompey match.......and then we have 2 away games.

We should be aiming for 6 points from the next 2 home games & at least 2 from the away ones.

Don’t worry mate, we’ve got Stoke on Wednesday!
And Nathan doesn't fare well against his old teams.

I have to say I did expect it to be Carey coming off for Berry given the second half stinker but Jones took a risk and went with Doc instead.

I thought it was a good derby and if we had our shooting boots on could have won. Ref today was excellent let a few niggles go and knew when there was a proper foul he called it.

WTF was Carey doing near the end blasting it into space when a simple pass.put Clarke in. Campbell should have been bought on earlier and played out on the tight where there were tons of space.

One point gained towards our goal.

Watching games this season has me reminiscing about the times we had Hales, Horsfield, Flanagan, Powell, Robinson. We didn’t keep a clean sheet too often but scored loads of goals. What we have now is powder puff compared to those players.

    50/50 game.
Love our wing backs now. Chambers put some class balls in cannot understand why kelman isnt in there poaching.

coady and bell a class above.

dykes gave it his all love it, but tired on the hour and couldnt win anything after.

    tc wasted at wing back.

collin didnt play? Sack the manager

    not bad

Thought we played well overall. In hindsight thought Kelman was doing well and should have stayed on.

Some promising signs tonight, needed more legs for the final few minutes though

I think that’s just Carey, he’s about the only player in our team willing to have a shot. The vast majority of his attempts don’t go in, some are wild (unfortunately that was our experience tonight) but he’ll be our top goal scorer come the end of the season.

Interesting Jones said their subs had more impact then ours ….. no surprise when one Campbell
