    Football supporters...

Sing "Nathan Jones; is a w@nker; is a w@nker" all game...

Snd then get upset when he tells the to "f*ck off"...
NJ's reaction was a bit ridiculous though. It was hardly unusual abuse, or anything unacceptable.

Quite bizarre to shout at the away fans, then virtually storm off the pitch, instead of walking slowly around the pitch with the players to celebrate the victory.
Think he realised he'd gone a bit over the top and thought it was better to go down the tunnel and calm down. He was like a different person in his interview with Charlotte

Brilliant result. Everyone of our players ran their bollocks off tonight to get that result.

Defence was outstanding and great to see Ramsay having a great game again.

I know Docherty will get stick from some but my God, he put some work in tonight. Some great tackles, constantly breaking up their play - he may not be the most gifted player we have but he gives everything.

Dykes makes another goal. Got to be honest  thought Campbells first touch was going to eff the chance up.

And very amusing to see Jones give the Stoke fans stick at the end. Or at least until one of their coaching staff who looked about a foot taller than Jones intervened!

    Ryan Shawcross.
Ryan Shawcross snapped Aaron Ramsay's leg in half. Love child of Kevin Muscat and Lurch. Vile man.

Off the pitch he's a really nice guy.
    So is Nathan Jones apparently!

What sort of reception did Jesu Rak Saki get from our supporters, booed or clapped?
Clapped off. Even his old chant came out when he missed on purpose.
    I thought I heard it!

Whatever has changed with the formation I could not give a s***.
In advance, for all that have said (twice)that Jones has to go, perhaps you'll need to look at his stats on what he has done for us.
    Sack Jones :D:D

massive win and safety is within touching distance.
I've liked the look of Dykes since day one and as with most striker assessments i'm spot on , proper grafter with a brain .

    92%    safety
    8%     Big R
    Play Offs?

Wears his heart on his sleeve, don’t see a problem with that.

    .
  • Massive win and a big fuck off to all the Stoke wankers who abused Nathan Jones all day long and then cried like little bitches when he gave it back to them at the end of the game.

He who laughs last laughs loudest, you bunch of crockery making twats.

Great win. We hit the crossbar and tested the netting on both sides of the goal. I enjoyed the game. It seems I might be in the minority, but I find you can't take your eyes off these Championship games.

I did see LJ mention his groin at the end of the first half and was surprised he came out in the second. I really hope he's playing through a reasonable pain level and not doing any damage to himself, as he's ridiculously brave and is putting in 8 or 9 out of 10 performances while about 80-90% fit.

Well done, all. Godden looked better in the second half after his 45-minute pre-season! Clarke, Coady, and Chambers are excellent additions. Three clean sheets in a row and joint second in the league for that stat now.

The January signings have given the team a huge boost in energy. We won all the 50-50s tonight - absolutely superb

All that nonsense about Jones needing to be sacked having lost the dressing room. What a load of tosh

The so called free hit was a home run.

Jones mugging off the Stoke fans and management team was icing on the cake.

So was laughing at the mouthy prick in F Block telling all and sundry that TC was a waste of space and will "100% not score tonight because he's a lazy useless c*** who can't run and can't shoot"

Hope you feel like a right wally if you're on here
Nah. Probably hasn’t the intelligence to read or write.
  • Appalling crowd. Tv / streams really don’t help for these cold rainy mid winter midweeks
It was poor. I had nearly four rows to myself in the West Upper. I have to assume that the club do better money wise out of Sky and CATV than non season ticket money / cash on the gate?
  • Wing backs that are actual wing backs have changed this team totally.

Coady quietly going about his work and shoring up that area in front of the defence.

    Proper team again. Lovely
Whilst I know what you mean, it's fair to say he's not quietly going about his business. I sit at the back of the West Upper and I could hear him keeping up a running commentary throughout the game. He's been an absolute revelation in every aspect.

Abuse the opposition, quick walk round, three fist pumps and away.

He's probably set up his camp bed down at the training ground and working on the Pompey downfall right now!

Have to say Doc again, the amount of important covering challenges he makes is outstanding
Yes, agree, but hardly a single one of his passes went to a red shirt

Oh, and we beat 11 men. And deserved to do so.

That's our 1st win against 11 since we beat Oxford on 20/12/25.

That stat, is why many people have doubts about the quality of the squad and therefor its ability to remain in this league.

You have to wonder where we'd be this season with a settled team
That performance reminded me of the Swansea / West Brom games early in the season where we just know how to dig out the points that we need - Crazy that despite Stoke's possession, they just didnt do enough with it, probably got lucky with Rak-Sakyi hitting the bar (we did the same), and two crosses that Thomas put home, but Kaminski just wasn't troubled at all this evening
How far off are we, from having the most clean sheets in the Division?
Someone told me that we are now with the most clean sheets after that game (in this division).

We wanted it more than them, and you could tell they had a cup game at the weekend. They didn't look like the team we played in Stoke.

Credit to Campbell, he needed that tonight and deserves all the praise. He has been playing out of position last few games and can show what he can do against championship opposition. His work rate doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Dyke is proving to be the target man we needed, Cody has changed the team dynamic. In fact all the loan players looked like they have been playing as a unit for months. Wouldn't mind any of them signing.

Docherty is back to his old self (Cody makes him look good).

Ramsey, Jones and Bell a dream back three.

I think we are coming to understand what is our strongest XI now, which is needed going into the final few months.

Tempted to quote all of Damo’s posts from the match thread and have them printed on a large canvas: “the mind of a Charlton fan as they deservedly win a game of football”.
Nah, that's a bit mean. Given the number of times failing to take our chances has come back to bite us on the arse, I can understand the mentality. I just think it's healthier to choose not to get on a downer before it actually happens, because sometimes, like tonight, it won't. There's a subtle but important difference between "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" and "hope for the best, expect the worst".

I don't really get the "Jones giving some back is unprofessional" comments. In how many other professions do you have a few thousand people chanting that you're a c*nt? None. So the normal rules of professionalism don't apply.

When we (me and my friend) was coming back from Stoke their fans never shyed away from giving us the 'we're bigger club than you' and 'Jones is going to ruin your club'.

It wasn't like they were being particularly polite to Jones tonight as well. Tell you what if I was him I wouldn't shy away from doing what he did.

Did J.Rak-Sakyi acknowledge the crowd much? I know we gave him a good reception, but it didn't look like the feeling was reciprocated.

Stoke continue an incredible run in the capital. They have just one win in their last 41 matches away to London cubs!
