Nice to see us put our foot on the ball here
And then an aimless long ball gives it away

Steve Brown: “I’ve watched a lot of leagues this last 6 months”, he’s clearly part of our recruitment team
  • Dykes holding his ribs. Ramsay on the floor which looks more serious

Players go over to a remarkably calm looking NJ while Ramsay gets treatment
  • I never realised Brownie was an expert in Serbian league??

Hopefully us having 14 on the pitch now will help ;)

The gulf in class/ ability between us and them is depressing.

Spot on. And regrettably, appears much the same with most every other team in this Division (who have now all well figured us out) Including those around us, from whom we need to grab points, and aren't. Very hard scrabble to beat relegation on our current form. Few goals and little else on offer from all these 'super signings' we've made.
You make it sound like we're in the bottom three. 3 more wins and a few draws that's all we need to stay up.

Stats suggest that Pompey are on top in their game.

Doc having one of his good positional/reading games
  • HT 0-0, predicted early Southampton pressure dealt with nicely by us and even created a couple of openings ourselves, but good overall first half, and more of the same second half with a couple of gamechangers will do nicely..

Feels like both sides are waiting for the HT whistle. Could argue we’ve finished the half the stronger side

    Get in. 0-0 still.
  • Hardly any possession but a very tight assured defensive display which has made Southampton look rather blunt up front. A show of calm after the disaster that was the mid week display.

Damn... We've actually looked quite comfortable the shot that hit the crossbar aside.

    Negative: We’ve been absolutely dominated.

    Positive: We’re still 0-0.

Feel sorry for Campbell, as he’s got nobody up there trying to attack with him.

One sided, but the scoreline is all that matters I suppose.

It's been one-sided but without too much threat really.

Said pre game that I was expecting a 2-0 defeat, hoping for a 1-1 draw and would be delighted with a 0-1 win.

Southampton dominate the half as expected but all three results are still on the table.
