So if TC and Kam exited.

And Wickens and JRS came in.

    Would people take that?
Not if JRS was a loan. I’m not convinced TC wants to go anyway
Agree - and tbh without him going I dont think JRS could come on a perm. However get the money for TC and maybe that unlocks JRS......
The other question is would JRS want to come with TC gone? Feel like TC would be quite a big pull for JRS
Tyreece and jesuran sitting in a tree,k.i…, ok that’s enough.
Think you might need to get out the sun

Okwonkwo would realistically be a sidegrade or at the best a slightly diagonal move, and I can't imagine we would be saving much if anything on the wage front.
Seems a bit "played well against Charlton" for me, not convinced he's a huge upgrade but age is on his side.

Isn't Wickens a bit of the same, played well against Charlton? Not that you're talking about him but he's in the conversation.
  • Everyone slating Kaminski and then rating Okonkwo, Kaminski had a better save percentage last season 68.4% compared to 67.9% for Okonkwo. Okonkwo also had fewer clean sheets, more goals conceded, more goals conceded per 90.
Get your point, but I think GK stats are a bit dependent upon the style of play of a side and the quality of defenders in front of them. How busy they are in comparison etc. what I would say is that Wrexham didn’t seem to fancy him for a bit last season, make what you will of that🤷🏻‍♂️

All this nonsense about Jones can't do it in a 2...

You are aware we've had him longer than NJ? And was already looking the best CB in the club. Unless I'm missing something about Hector...
You are missing something. He really wasn’t great when he came in
He came out the team after dropping a clanger that led to an equaliser away at Blackpool whilst Curtis was in charge and just before NJ joined. He barely looked half the player he now is under his management.
Lloyd said he was playing through a painful injury during that period. Given how rock solid he's been since then, I think we can safely believe him. He is not an error-prone defender.

Can't say the same for his defensive partner at the time. Although if you'd asked a few people on here, they'd have fervently insisted that amount of errors was normal!
Injury or not at that time he was never a consistent player before Jones and didn't get anywhere near the level he is now.
Which you could say about that entire team.

    Probably😂

But finished higher in the League
  • DOUCHER must’ve seen Okonkwo not taking the shortcut
  • Okonkwo’s shot stopping stats weren’t great last season (still better than Kaminski’s) if you look at goals prevented which is a much better measure than save percentage

The years before that though his shot stopping numbers were very good. It was his first season in the championship so I’d expect improvement year on year

I think he’d be a big upgrade on what we have now, and also only 24 so a lot of potential to develop him

Golden glove winner and made team of the season last year. Yes it was league one but suggests hes consistently good, which may not be the case for Okwonkwo.

Okonkwo was very good in league 2 and league 1. Was ok in his first championship season but he’s at least played a championship season. Wickens might also not be as good a level higher, I’d rather Okonkwo with the year of championship experience that he will hopefully be able to learn and kick on from

Ryan Allsop the same for Birmingham and fell out of favour. I just don't see either Okonkwo or Wickens as great options myself, so we're on the same page about AO at least.

I'd swap Campbell for Rak Sakyi all day long.

Don't rate Kaminski at all. Him going i would see as a positive.

Know nothing about either option being discussed but would hope for an upgrade.

My guess is that two players have signed new contracts, Coventry one.  My guess is Lloyd the other.

Can't help think JRS is the right winger but he is so far from a Jones player...

  • I'm not sure a keeper is more competent if he is in a higher league. You save what you are given. It is just that the better keepers gravitate to higher divisions.
  • Lots of talk of JRS but personally I’d prefer Cowatt, the lad from New Zealand. I think he offers more all round than JRS.

  • I don’t think JRS has done enough consistently over the past few seasons to be worthy of some people wanting him so much, would rather we looked elsewhere, even if we were considering him which I’m not certain we will be, knowing what NJ wants from a player.

    Joe Aribo would be interesting.

He would be catastrophic, that’s what he would be.

And that’s not even mentioning the fact that, according to Cawley, we aren’t signing any more CMs unless one goes out.

  • Whether people think Okonkwo is a huge upgrade on Kaminski or not. you’re potentially looking at a small fee and 15-20k off the books for Kaminski.

Okonkwo signed his last deal at Wrexham as a L1 player after getting promoted from L2 and is rumoured to be on 8-9k a week who we can probably get on loan.

Value for budget wise Okonkwo is a no brainer over Kaminski

  • Just can't see JRS having the workrate for an NJ side , he'd actually have to do the defensive side of the game.

Think Mccowatt is more likely as someone that can play both flanks and as a 10 in a pinch.

With the amount of times Okonkwo's name has been misspelt on this thread, and our track record of misspelling names, I'm now convinced he's going to sign as our keeper.

And one more for luck Owkwonkwow.

Catastrophic 😂😂😂 Tbh I don’t want Joe Aribo but it was an ex player being hinted at. We are still lacking quality in CM imo and I’m hopeful we still spend on that quality. JRS makes more sense positionally as the player rumoured but again it’d be an interesting move by us if it happens.

  • How are we still talking about JRS!? Has there been any evidence at all that we are even interested?

Don't forget Okoronkwo. First signing on CM01/02

Happy birthday to CM 0102 legend Isaac Okoronkwo

Beyond annoying. Speaking it into existence is not going to happen
