If JRS really wants to play for Charlton he can still make it happen …don’t be surprised if this don’t still happen question. Is would we wait ??

Keep saying it but everyone has a price. JRS isn’t going to retire at the end of his Palace contract. Just feel for him as he may not get the rewards he deserves because of his body.

HOW DID BURKE PASS A MEDICAL!
Because he doesn't have any chronic injuries. He's had issues with his achilles and his hamstrings in the past but he tends to get a lot of soft tissue injuries as well. His most recent one is a quad problem, before that he's had foot, hip, groin, calf and various other muscle injuries. It's not something that will necessarily be picked up in a medical as a persistent problem, he just seems to pull something every time he exercises

Signed Burke but not JRS for medical issues. It fucking writes itself
Bit of a difference between the two - one was to try to get a bit of established experience in the side who if wasn't in the reduced section with a giant yellow sticker on his head, we would never have any chance of getting near. The other one is a target we've been after for a while and have been thorough with vetting and testing.

We don't know what has actually happened, but if it was that he had something potentially serious and we ignored that then everyone would be up in arms that we didn't do our due diligence. The quoted fee is a lot for us, not the type of money found down the back of the sofa of a parachute payment club.

Burke being injured again is the really really frustrating one. The guys made of Papier Mache and just can't be relied upon as cover.
    On a par with Chucks

I would imagine a medical is for insurance purposes so Burke might not have needed to pass one, just there be a prospect he could contribute and clauses if he cant. We didn't spend millions on him. I doubt Ledley King or Paul McGrath would have passed medicals when they played.

I'm at Boreham Wood v Boston United tonight. Abdulmalik is not even on the bench.

He's refusing to train so doesn't surprise me. He'll go to Djungarens in the end probably.

Which player are you talking about?
  • @TheNotoriousBWP

Not the done thing to quote Cawley substack in full as it's how he makes his living.
I do agree with what you say, but it is frustrating for fans who choose not to subscribe to his substack for what ever reason to not hear 'first hand' important news through official channels e.g one interview with reporters and one through the official channels after the match last night.

It feels like there are two levels of information leaked to fans, i.e those who pay and those that don't. This isn't the first time. Sorry to feal negative on this point.
Why not pay for it if you want it, it's the same concept as buying a newspaper. Have you ever bought one of those?

The Kaminski agent thing has been picked up by Cypriot sport sites. Omonia are currently going through as they lead 4-2 on aggregate

Nah, I used to read mine for free in WH Smith at lunchtime. That's how I learnt Paul ince was off Man U.....posed in their kit but still contracted to W.Ham. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • I am starting to think that, a la the Millwall model, we are gonna have to shift someone on for c£10m or so in order to take that next step.

    Develop, sell, invest.

Ramsay and TC probably represent our best chance of that at the moment. Maybe Mwamba and Mbick in the future.
I think JRS was going to be one of those investments. Hoping to develop him into a potential PL player and cash in, but, by the sounds of it the medical issue made it too risky.

Maybe I’m deluded and just in denial but still think JRS happens if he’s not moved by the end of the weekend.

His agent might be holding off for something better but surely he’d rather JRS move to us than not move at all.

No Cawley piece on it unusual for him, reckon he’s trying to tie it in with some other news?
Or the club felt to release some positive news without consulting any external parties.

Edit: Article up at 8pm about "Thomas Kaminski poised to seal a move to Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia".

This is what I’m wondering - if JRS wants the move surely it happens
