Not a rumour as such but all top earners at Stockport are being asked / encouraged to leave. Looks like they've packed in their attempt/s at promotion, Challinor's gone, Rochdale manager has come in and there will be some pickings to be had.
Interesting - imagine Pye will be the first one snapped up. Would not be opposed to that at all.
Yes,a  name i've seen mentioned a lot on here - not really seen / noticed him play but wasn't impressed in the playoffs when he got bullied by the forward into conceding a goal
The championship is a step up physically so that is a slight concern. I think we’d be a good club for him though as we play a back 3 so less demand in physical battles and he’d have Lloyd Jones next to him for that too

With Lincoln winning the league, I’m not sure why he’d be available. Especially after also losing their manager.
Losing their manager shows why he might be available, a decent bid may be too good to turn down. I doubt they’ll have a huge budget or start handing out big payrises and new contracts to their current players.
Bristol City need a 'keeper though, probably more than us with Vitek going back to Man U

Think I saw they were rivalling QPR for Sam Tickle. Seems like a few championship clubs needs keepers this year

I Googled him and can see why he's in demand for a keeper!

If we can find and afford a much better keeper we should do it.

    * Brazil 1970 are the exception to this rule.
We don’t know how good he could have been, he never had anything to do.
Good Charlton teams have good goalkeepers too.  The 98 promotion side being the exception to the modern era rule .  Kaminski and Mannion do have that feel of Petterson/Salmon to me .
Andy Petterson was hilarious. I asked him to talk me through his sending off at Villa Park.  He looked me straight in the eye, smiled, and said I got the ball!

Great day out......Still think Brownie should have held onto the ball from the resulting free kick...😉

I was 17 and remember seeing myself on that footage on MOTD.  I had a recording of it on VHS for years that obviously disappeared with time.  Thanks for sharing.  I had the camera pan in on me as we were waiting for the final whistle

That game is probably up there as one of my favourite memories of supporting us.  Well before the limbs era, but what an away end when Mills scored

I think we will definitely be in for Sykes, but probably have a few other championship teams competing

Think he would be a very smart move for us, very good option at RWB but also is versatile so can do a job in midfield too

Seems to be split opinions online from Bristol City fans whether they should have extended his deal and that’s a club who’s been a midtable championship side for years.

Picking up a versatile RWB option as a bottom end championship club on a free who can also do the RWB/RW role if we want to play the 352/4231 seems like stupidly smart and sensible business.

Bree signs an extension at Southampton so rule that one out. Fair play to him his time at us, and then subsequent form when he went back, played himself back into contention there, and ultimately won him a new contract, when 6 months ago you would have put money on him signing a permanent deal here

I can't forget when in the play off at the Valley against Swindon, Fiertoft hit the woodwork and the ball rebounded from Pettersons back into the goal.

I remember Ms AA calling out the scores to me as I was doing the hoovering, etc.  The we went to her cousin’s party up in Essex and Mark Bowen turned up.

The Aribo of 2019? Yes, I'd love to have him.

The Aribo of 2026? Not so sure.

Wages would be my main concern with Aribo , also didn't do a lot in that very poor Leicester side.

Could see him going back to Rangers

Seems like the only way we'd be able to get him back is when his stock is low though. Good opportunity for him to rebuild in familiar surroundings. Got Turkey written all over him for me though
  • A fresh start in familiar settings could do wonders for Aribo. I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him.

Aribo would be the type of the signing that goes incredibly or a disaster no in between.
