Given last seasons recruiting disaster I’m going to wait until we’ve played a few games to judge any of these players.
We stayed up. It wasn't a disaster.
Two of are most expensive signings of the last 10 years were loaned back to league one. That is a disaster.
Sonny Carey - scored goals, won us points. Good signing
Thomas Kaminski - had some good moments, had shit moments, still kept clean sheets. I think falls into a Mediocre signing bracket - wasn't worth it, but if we'd signed him on a free I think we'd be viewing it more positively
Tanto Olaofe - got the winner at Sheff Utd, but obviously not worked out. Bad signing
Amari'i Bell - crucial to how we play. Indisputably good signing
Reece Burke - injured, not very good when back from injury, despite looking like he could have had something about him at some point. Fairly bad signing (but as he didn't really start for us not as bad as Tanto)
Joe Rankin-Costello - didn't really play much; felt he was a bit of a project. Had some great games and some very very middling ones, probably more of the latter. Mediocre signing
Rob Apter - very confusing but as it stands, bad signing
Charlie Kelman - oh man. Jury still out for me. Mediocre signing in terms of outlay but there's clearly something about him...
Harvey Knibbs - hmm. Not as good as Sonny Carey. Popped up with the odd goal; not sure he's our guy really. Mediocre signing
Collins Sichenje - jury still out
Lyndon Dykes - good signing - helped us get the points we needed.

Roussillon, Hernandez no longer at club. Obviously were toilet but not here long enough.

So I make that three good signings - all of which were cheap/free - and three bad ones, two of which cost fees.

If you look at each player on an individual basis then yes, the three bad signings look pretty piss poor, but to ignore Carey and Bell who were freebies is short-sighted.

Would like a better hit rate this window, but if the above sort of activity has us surviving in the Champ, and now we have a tiny bit more wiggle room, then hopefully things can continue on an upward trajectory.

But how you'd deem the above a "disaster" is really funny lol
You're forgetting one man & I would suggest the most important signing that we made, Conor Coady. I believe that his experience, tactical & positional know how, his constant talking to players (& refs  ;) ) were vital to us staying up.

Doubts surround the future of Patrick Casey after his #cafc contract expired at the start of this month.

Club made new offer in May

Would maybe go higher on Kelman too. Took a while to get going but without that signing I think we’d be back in League One.

Hoping for 10/15 from him this season.
He was a reasonable signing, but i don't think it unreasonable to have expected a bit more, for the £3.5m we paid.

I don't get the impression that NJ was overwhelmed by him either, considering how desperate he was to get Godden back, and how he would regularly be benched.

I would say the prospect of having no idea who’s about to come through the door is way more exciting than agonising over a rumor of whether or not we’ll sign Fofana

Hope it’s Brian De Keersmaecker or someone similar. With the club being tight lipped it could be anyone
    Told it’s a defender.

I think it might be Tutu from Bolton but that is just educated guess so don’t quote me on that one

Would be happy with that, a freebie that hopefully means we can go big with money on another RWB and the midfield

West Ham have today announced 42,000 season tickets sold.
And there are some on here trying to tell us that we will get bigger attendances this season than W Ham.

I offered a bet in favour of the Upbeats, but amazingly they declined.

They would have lost before the season started, most of us knew.
I remember when we was in the Premier league a few of my mates saying we were bigger than Spurs,we might have beaten them a few time but never a bigger club ,I haste to mention he was in the  dunces class.

Only asking because a mate of mine said black guy, out of contract, right back, played in league 1 last year.

He fits as well as Osei-Tutu

Would be pleased if it is Osei-tutu, a proper specialist attacking RWB

Given we said no to him last summer and then he made 3 League One appearances I’d be surprised if it was Lembikisa. He got engaged recently though so congratulations to him there

Connor Coady on Radio 5 now talking about England and leadership on the pitch that Harry Kane demonstrated. He was saying that whereupon he (CC) is VERY vocal and loud on the pitch (which his fellow pro on the show confirmed) Kane is very quiet but everyone respects and listens to him. Hope we re-sign him personally.
