Arter hadn’t played premier league for years when we signed him. Aribo played 30+ prem games the season before last, and 38 in a promotion winning champ team the year before that. 

Last season he wasn’t favoured at Southampton so barely played and never got match fit. So when he went to Leicester it also didn’t work out 

If we can get him fit then he could be a class signing. Still have 3 friendlies and a cup game before the season starts to get him going. 

On a free provided the wages aren’t too bad then I really don’t mind it. We need more quality on the ball in midfield and he has that

Yes, defence is sorted now. It’s all about top end and ensuring we get the quality.

I don't see us signing another striker. We already have 5 main strikers & Grant can play there too (more of a striker than TC is).

I'm just glad that we are signing our top targets that happen to be out of contract. What a steal. 

With moving out Kanu and Tanto, and Godden just coming back, Kelman we have no idea about, Mbick not fit yet and Leaburn hasn’t had a full season without injury, I am pretty confident we’ll be signing another striker.

Grant is here mainly to play as the inside forward type instead of up front, although we know he is more than capable of playing up front.

Three weeks away from our first league match and a team that was desperate last season for creative players. Not necessarily spending millions but paying competitive wages to players ending their contracts. The next three players will be fundamental to our survival & you would imagine tactically you’d want them in asap. 

I agree. But your original post suggested that we need to no longer sugar coat the fact that we have no money?

I think the signings are proving to be tough to get doen, but for the right players the club will invest

There have been players who were right for us like Field who went to Norwich. Like Jones said we were blown out the water with what Norwich offered. I have no doubt Sykes was also the right player but we can’t compete with Millwall. Primarily we don’t stand a chance financially with most clubs in the championship so we have to take chances on players like previous injuries or unproven.

If Redmond and Apter ended up being our right wing options, I’d hope we never ever play with wingers. We have to sign more than one centre midfielder as well.

I don’t particularly want Apter or Redmond on the right and would prefer two new, exciting, quick and direct players. I also would like us to sign a couple of midfielders too. Someone really comfortable on the ball and another who can score goals and create. If we want to evolve the way NJ wants, we need at least one top midfielder who can control a game.

At the start of the window it was always known that RB / Wing Back was a position we were looking to bring someone in … we played one or two different options there last season so it was an important position to get sorted .. and we have.

Which surely means Ramsay isnt going anywhere imminently otherwise we'd go from McNamara being our new RB to him being our ONLY RB, which would be a gamble!

I think decent signing. Our squad has a lot of championship experience in it now, and will be valuable as the season goes on. We need couple midfielders and another winger (right side) then would be a good window. Would like us to sign another striker, maybe a wildcard from Europe

Individually probably not, but once you take into account incoming fees & combined wages off the books, it definitely frees up some space financially I would imagine

I don’t think Kanu and Assimwe would take up space as they are technically u21’s I’m not sure what the cut off is though

Talk of a less attacking fullback doesn't worry me too much.  Last season we played three at the back, creativity was basically the remit of TC and Carey.  With a 4231 we are adding more creativity at the top end of the pitch, if we can sign a progressive midfielder and a quick, dangerous winger then the team will be more attacking not less.
