Honestly Coady is a big NO

Helped last season to get us over the line but we should be staying well clear.
He’s a level up on Doc and Cov who would play in the same role. Priority has to be a box to box CM but after that is a deal can be done it has to be done. Excellent all round pro.

Coady is keen to come back too but as I said last week, unfortunately a return wasn’t looking likely for him as things stand
  • Wouldn't think this lot were playing for a starting spot after that game 😩

Any update on that centre mid you said was close? We gonna get another Sunday morning signing?
  • Our midfield needs a proper rebuild after today absolutely awful

I assume Coady is going through preseason at Wrexham, so at least wouldn't be 3 weeks behind if we signed him.

    Coady deal getting closer.
He might not be 'the answer' to our lack of a creative midfield, BUT our defence, like every department of the team is not all that.
Last season his play as a ultra defensive midfielder was vital in the suceesful bid to stave off relegation.
This AND a goal at M'Boro against the play offers .. I say sign him up, seems like we'll need him

Needing what we need, getting Coady in before an actual box to box midfielder is absolutely diabolical.

Highly disappointing if this is the case

Kamara scored for Hull tonight and was apparently very bright.

I don’t particularly want Coady but you can’t really believe they’re going position by position down a list rather than working on deals for more than one position at a time. Some will be quicker than others. I’d rather we signed the right box to box midfielder late in the window than the wrong one early in the window

I just don't buy that the Coady move isn't going to scuppered for family reasons. I'm sure we've got an interest but I don't think his family will relocate

Impressive to do so from the training ground

Does make me laugh the guy on the other forum “I’ve just had this come in - we are signing Kamara” and then the next day he’s playing for Hull 😂 such a weapon that bloke
Then denies he said anything 🤣🤣

It's the hope that kills you isn't it, this window has been pretty rough so far, think our fans are gonna get mega frustrated with Alli if we sign him

    Is Holsgrove any good?
Have a look at this. Seems to be the exact midfielder we need. Composed, puts a foot in, and direct/creative.

Don’t ask on here they tell you Kirk apter etc are the new best thing then within the month change their mind. Just goes to show that scouts and managers think I like what I see and sometimes it just doesn’t click or the player for whatever reason can’t deliver.  It’s a tough gig and not all pay off.

Don’t compare Kirk and Apter .  Apter had some good games but didn’t suit the system. Kirk was horrendous
This 100% Rob Apter had more good games for Charlton after 1 game than Charlie Kirk ever did.

Although he can play both sides, I think Alli is best from the left. Would rather Kamara as we need someone to play on the right

More than front runners for Alli is what I understand.
Things can always go wrong, but close.

Are we going to end up seeing TC on the right again?

Mixed reviews on Alli from Pompey fans, he sounds like a classic winger; one good game in five.

He’s similar to TC in that he will get you up off your seat a lot but also frustrate you just as much. We need another player with pace and 1v1 ability though, and we’re never going to be able to buy one who also has the cross/finish at the end of it because that’s then a top championship/premier league player

    Hull Daily Mail originally.
