Remember when Nathan said we won’t be looking at league one players
To be fair he played in the championship last season and is now a full ROI player …

So that's Alli then. Based on NJ's comments post Gillingham, there's two more to come in - hopefully it's not just Coady and Dykes.

All this about scouting in different market to end up with another Luton player…
What if our scouts looked at 100 players in this position and felt he was the best fit and value for our budget?
Sorry, reasoned conversation with considered points is not welcome on this thread.
    Do better

He played in the Championship last season.

By that reasoning you wouldn't have wanted to sign Fatawu this summer because Leicester got relegated so "He'S a LeAgUe 1 PlAyEr"

I’d be surprised if it’s only 2 more. Think we need 3 or 4 but probably only possible if we shift some out

Think it'll be 4 ultimately but that might hinge on Kanu going on a permanent.

He played half a fucking season in the championship you weapon.

Fatawu has played no lower than the championship and also in the prem. not sure why you’re binging him into it as there no way we could afford him

"You can expect pace, power, directness and goals - skills too!"

His new manager Jones added: "We’re delighted to get Milli over the line. We want to evolve and to get better year in and year out - we’ve identified certain elements that we’ve needed, in terms of that player that can be one-v-one.
threat at Championship level. We felt he was going to be a really good addition and we’ve worked hard to get that done. He provides options and competition for the players we’ve got and we think in that forward area we’ve got different one-v-one threats with TC [Tyreece Campbell], Karlan [Grant] and Rob Apter and we feel we’ve just added in that department.

"We’re still looking for even more quality but this, we feel, is a positive step in being able to evolve and be more potent. He’s hungry, he’s ambitious, he wants to do really well at this level and kick-on, we were really impressed by how much he wanted to join Charlton

Oh well, Alli should be ready for Christmas, by the time we have him up to speed...🙄

Jones name drops Apter in the article, so don't be surprised to see him stay.

Grant, TC, Alli and Apter on the wings, is it enough? I still feel like it's light on the right, Alli is more comfortable on the left, is this where Redmond comes in? Is he fit enough to play a decent amount of games, and can he find the level of performance he showed earlier on in his career?

The midfielders are absolutely crucial to our success, but I still feel like we're missing a bit of a spark, despite Alli coming in

Another step closer to the moment of truth - have we saved the bulk of our budget for one or two expensive midfield signings, or is there no money and we’ll end up with Coady and maybe a cheap alternative to Doc if we’re lucky.

He's not like McNamara and Grant who have been without a club over the summer so understandably behind the curve, he'd have done a full pre season with Luton.

Just watched his highlight reel I actually think he looks great. Seems a lot more sharp and direct than TC (of course only seeing the best bits). I think if we had signed 2 midfielders already and were in a stronger spot there, people would be a lot more positive about this guy.

Pretty underwhelmed with all our business so far if I’m honest. Not quite in the bed wetting camp but none of them excite me.

if rumours are true and it’s just Dykes and Coady to come in, then I’ll be lumping on a relegation.

Not even trying to be negative either, just seems we went for it more last summer in signings than this, albeit some of last summers were rancidio.

Been said on here a thousand times but if we do not bolster our central midfield, we are well and truly in for a long old season.

Hope the club are working on this and not just freebie signings on their way down.

I’m not sure that is enough tbh, but I’m very sure Redmond won’t be the answer to our problems. Still hoping we can bring in a proper right sided winger, either that or we will have to pray Apter comes good

It’s not about being a happy clapper, it’s about staying neutral and actually seeing how he works out. Just makes you out to look an absolute idiot if he turns out to do well!

We were weak on the right yesterday. Fullah not a right winger and asiimwe was awful. I’m not knocking a player I’ve never seen but we seem very left side heavy at the moment and would have preferred a right winger.

Maybe the plan is to play grant more centrally

This is very well summed up. It’s leaning towards the latter atm
