Well that is a relief losing Kanu for nothing would have hurt as I believe at some point he’ll go for a lot of money.

Feels like the latter has always naturally been the case. He has a price. The fact that at some level the club happy for this to be out there is interesting and that there is a willingness to negotiate at least

We would have to tell him that we do not have a slot to register him, so he would be limited to occasionally playing as an over-age player for the u21s. It would be sad to fall out with one of our best-behaved and best-educated starlets.

Reams claiming on the other forum that we are still trying for Rak Sakyi but might have to settle for a loan. 

Don’t know how true this is but would be the best possible thing for us as it avoids all the agent bollocks at least temporarily while we still get the player for the season. Really hope it’s true.

We had two CBs pull up at the same moment against Spurs. With Charlton anything is possible. Think the current system fits a big strong player like Leaburn rather than a kelman ir Godden too. So Riis fits the bill 

It’s precisely the system Kelman thrived in for Orient. We’d just need to play it long a bit less or use Grant as the target  

Grant isn’t a target and Kelman had creative players behind in Agyei, Donley, Galbraith, O’Neill etc. Grant Carey Alli and TC are attacking threats but they’re not players who’s going to play beautiful through balls for Kelman to latch on to or pinpoint low crosses, the only player in our entire squad capable of that is probably JRC just a shame he’s ridiculously slow and not got much of an engine 

Mwamba can do that

I have no itk info but i'd say there's a very good chance we still sign jrs - i'd say there is a game of brinkmanship going on, we hold the cards as he wants to come to us but we will probably have set a deadline of cob today for the deal to be done and if its not, we get somebody else.

I would guess the loan wasn't preferable as we clearly wanted to bring in £1m to (hopefully) reinvest into the squad. We haven't really sold for much so far this season, just undisclosed but likely small amounts for Mitchell, Gillesphey, Anderson and Dixon. We're going to be paying a portion of Ahadme and Kaminski's wages while they're out on loan, I don't know if we'll have got much if any money back for Olaofe in terms of a loan fee, I suspect them covering his wages might be the best we could hope for and we've had to make some unexpected additional outlays on Okonkwo and Bindon. I'd guess we were holding out for a L1 team to have a bad start and panic a bit, maybe hope Plymouth would use the Tolaj money irresponsibly.

Also worth noting sending Mbick out on loan to make way for a new striker would not reduce the squad numbers and an additional player (on top of the 3 + Knibbs?) would have to leave so really don't see us signing another striker this window at least.

Lot of American players coming into the EFL. Feels like a good market to tap into. Certainly less cultural acclimatisation than fishing in some other  waters

It always get's me when people always go straight to "we are probably paying most of the wages" when we loan someone out but when we loan someone in the assumption is always that we are having this big wages outlay. Makes no sense to me - like the clubs we loan from have made that player surplus to requirements the same as we have the players we loan out - why is the assumption always that we are running some kind of charity loan out situation but when we dip into the market we are paying top dollar?

I know when the club was run badly that may have well been the case but I just don't get this automatic assumption that when we decide a player isn't right for us/not good enough that automatically makes them worthless to anyone else but when other clubs decide the same about one of theirs we must be paying a full whack.

Sadly the once king of transfer deadline day is no more. Clubs use a portal called EFL PlayerReg that also looks after other stuff like squad size. Now all we need to do is hack into Wet Spam's portal log in details and transfer Jarrod Bowen to us on a free. Right winger sorted just the 150k a week wages to pay.

Appreciate it, thanks. I think Assimwe and Doc will certainly move. Apter will probably be allowed to go once we sign a RW

Azeez is decent, but if Millwall get money and ACD for him, they've done very well out of it.
