Lads, why do we have to bring politics into everything18

Looking at a Bolton forum it would appear he’s both left and right winger but also can play Right Back. Useful to have that in a player I think. If that report is accurate and who knows it could be that the £950k quoted is what it’s going to cost in wages over the three year deal which equates to around £6k per week which might have legs. On the other hand quite how the poster has access to such info makes the validity of the rumour less in my opinion. As ever. WIOTOS1

This argument forgets that our two top scorers were signed from L1 as well as Fevrier being important at the end of the season and Dykes having been in L1 the previous season too. In fact, only eight (+collins) of our squad of thirty odd players hadn’t been in L1 the previous season. I’m not saying we should keep buying from L1 but we certainly shouldn’t write it off purely because it’s L1golfaddick said:Delving into the league one casts offs again are we ?

Being able to play as an inverted left winger doesn't make you a feasible LWB as TC found. Fevrier is two footed so would be a better bet as cover.ShootersHillGuru said:

No chance we will be getting another keeper in. He’ll stick with TK and WMBraziliance said:https://x.com/i/status/2061008728367747225

I would not be surprised to see Mannion move for 1st team football. He did well when he first came into the team last season but Kaminski went back in.AberystwythAddick said:

Did he? 9 appearances, two horrors at Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday, also 2 debateable ones at Norwich/Wrexham which whilst they’re not howlers a better keeper potentially could have saved them either way that’s not good enoughKap10 said:

We 100% need a new number 1 but I doubt anyone takes Kaminski on his wages so we will be stuck with him13 -
There's been some phenomenal attacking talent to come out of League One over the last couple of years. The fact is if we'd managed to identify and sign players like Twine, Makama and Burrell we'd only be a couple of midfielders shy of a top 6 squad.fenaddick said:

Re the lad from Bolton. Of course its entirely plausible that he knew of our interest in Jan and refused to negotiate.with The Trotters. Hence his "release". 950k sounds like wages as mentioned by someone earlier which sounds possible. No idea if hes any good but we certainly need options at both left and right fullback/wingback.0

I'd be really surprised if someone ended up paying £2m for Sam Tickle. I'm not criticising his ability but he's a L1 keeper with one Championship appearance playing for a team who just finished 16th in the league. I think we spent around £1m on Kaminski and while Luton definitely needed to balance the books a bit he had over 150 Championship appearances and a Premier League season under his belt. Keepers tend to be cheaper than other players as well, I reckon his fee will be a fair bit less than that if he does move2
-
He’s only 24 which is very young for an GK, and has been one of the best keepers in league 1 for years. Played for England U21 recently and Arsenal were trying to sign him so he’s clearly very highly ratedGarrymanilow said:I'd be really surprised if someone ended up paying £2m for Sam Tickle. It’s some spotty teenager tweeting nonsense. 950k would be about 5k a week after a signing on fee…YTS1978 said:Re the lad from Bolton. Sure, and like I say it's not a comment on his ability, but it's about how much keepers typically cost from that division. Arsenal were interested in him back in 2024, which is also when he played for England u21s and he's spent all that time in the same spot. I think £2m would be a record for a L1 keeper, the highest fee might actually still be Pope to Burnley for just above a million, and even that was from a team just relegated to L1 and to a newly Premier League team. Fees have gone up since then but it seems very high for a player who has 3 L1 seasons under his belt and a lot still to prove. You never know though, if Wigan aren't minded to sell and someone wants him enough anything could happenNabySarr said:

Guaranteed you have seem him play once which was at the valley and not watched him in his other 20 odd games or looked at QPR’s fans opinions of himMrBurns said:
