Good afternoon (just) everybody

Another early kick of ensues today at The Kassam Stadium where Oxford Utd, who sit in 22nd spot but have won their last three matches, await our arrival. Hopefully the team, and all of you fellow Addicks have had time to recover from Wednesday night and are ready to go today, but lets not kid ourselves, today will be another toughie, and two clear days after Middlesborough will be testing, but we should be more than capable of travelling home with a result, and hopefully 50 points on the table.

Team news…usual suspects are sidelined…Reece Burke, Collins Sichenje and Luke Berry have all missed the Addicks' last two fixtures, while Josh Edwards, Harvey Knibbs, and Matty Godden are sidelined…

We've locked horns on 53 occasions, winning 19, the U's winning 15, and the remaining 19 encounters ending in draws, Charlie Kelman's goal proved to be the difference in the reverse fixture in December 2025 as the Addicks ran out 1-0 victors, so a double today?.

Matt Donohue will be the man in the middle this afternoon.

We will be sporting the red Reebok home kit in Oxfordshire…great news …COYR

TEAM…Nathan Jones has picked the same side that beat Birmingham City last weekend today.

It means five changes from the team that earned a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough in midweek with Kayne Ramsay, Lloyd Jones, Amari’i Bell, Lyndon Dykes and Tyreece Campbell replacing Keenan Gough, Conor Coady, Macaulay Gillesphey, Miles Leaburn and Charlie Kelman, who move to the bench.

There is also a place on the bench for Thomas Kaminski, who returns after missing the last three fixtures with a hamstring injury.

Ramsay, Jones and Bell will likely start in a back three in front of Will Mannion.

Harry Clarke and Luke Chambers are expected to once again operate as wing-backs with Conor Coventry, Sonny Carey and skipper Greg Docherty making up a midfield three behind Dykes and Campbell.

Joe Rankin-Costello, Jayden Fevrier and Ibrahim Fullah join Kaminski, Gillesphey, Coady, Gough, Leaburn and Kelman on the substitutes bench.

Charlton: Mannion; Ramsay, Jones, Bell; Clarke, Coventry, Carey, Docherty (c), Chambers; Dykes, Campbell

Subs: Kaminski, Gillesphey, Coady, Gough, Rankin-Costello, Fullah, Fevrier, Leaburn, Kelman

Campbell the only question mark for me, think it's harsh to drop Kelman

Don’t think it’s dropping, think they’re both playing 90 over 2 games in - very short time span

True, just hope we get the Campbell that likes to play rather than the sulky one, time will tell
  • The team I would have picked. Keep Brannagan quiet and we can get something out of this game.

Team makes sense, we're on the road, so having Campbell's pace to break is going to be a useful tool to have in our arsenal

The five return then. Good to see Mannion keep his place.
  • Strong team and I definitely back us to get the result.

Personally would have liked to see Jones stick with Kelman too - think you need to invest in him and give him a proper run of games and he'll score for you. Not sure we need to be as concerned about having TC as an outlet as in other games, I'd hope we're looking to take it to Oxford a bit. But not surprised to see TC back in and would love him to find his shooting boots as well!

Stanley Mills is one to watch too. Son of Danny and brother of 1500m runner George Mills

Would've gone Kelman for TC, but otherwise that looks our strongest team. 2-0 at 21s looks the wrong price

Or Harris isn't starting there instead of on the bench!

I just hope that we don't go too defensive today. Oxford have scored 3 goals in their last 2 home games but before that they didn't score in their previous 5. They will be playing with more confidence today after 3 wins on the bounce so allowing them too much of the ball is just asking for them to get a goal and see them start playing with their tails up. If we can be aggressive and push them into defending then I would like to think they'll struggle as the game goes on to create with worrying about what we're doing. A 0-0 suits us just fine so I'm fine with an impossibly boring match where everything is cancelled out but sitting back and waiting for something bad to happen won't work for us today I think

Don’t get picking Campbell why keep playing Kelman then leave him out striker has to play to get into a rhythm..… was hoping it would be a team going to win .. don’t see it with this line up ..

    Happy with that team.

Think Kelman missed his chance to clinch a starting place by missing that easy chance.

Fingers Crossed that he has the same impact off the bench as he did against Birmingham.

Good to see that they’ve finally got the welsh Dragon up and running FA!

Its a beautiful thing seeing SKY talk about the relegation battle between the four sides, with absolutely no involvement from us
Lets solidify that even more so this afternoon
Looking at Oxford's remaining games, they've got a horrible run in, along with Blackburn, and will be desperate for a win today. Really need to avoid them trying to make a fast start and get an early goal... Ideally that can come from us, because if so, we'll surely open them up even more.

Oxford aren't a team used to having lots of the ball, they're very different opposition to Middlesbrough.

I suspect both sides will be very cagey, and hoping to nick something from a set piece. I can't see this being a good spectacle for the neutral  :D
