Correct starting 11 imo and probably our strongest. Cov starting instead of Coady and not having 2 lumps up top hopefully means we aren't going there to defend. Still think 1-0 addicks. COYR.

Its a beautiful thing seeing SKY talk about the relegation battle between the four sides, with absolutely no involvement from us
Lets solidify that even more so this afternoon
Looking at Oxford's remaining games, they've got a horrible run in, along with Blackburn, and will be desperate for a win today. Really need to avoid them trying to make a fast start and get an early goal... Ideally that can come from us, because if so, we'll surely open them up even more.
SKY hate Charlton. Don't even get a mention in a relegation battle.

I just hope that we don't go too defensive today. Oxford have scored 3 goals in their last 2 home games but before that they didn't score in their previous 5. They will be playing with more confidence today after 3 wins on the bounce so allowing them too much of the ball is just asking for them to get a goal and see them start playing with their tails up. If we can be aggressive and push them into defending then I would like to think they'll struggle as the game goes on to create with worrying about what we're doing. A 0-0 suits us just fine so I'm fine with an impossibly boring match where everything is cancelled out but sitting back and waiting for something bad to happen won't work for us today I think
Oxford aren't a team used to having lots of the ball, they're very different opposition to Middlesbrough.

I suspect both sides will be very cagey, and hoping to nick something from a set piece. I can't see this being a good spectacle for the neutral  :D

Agreed, but they also will be viewing this as a game they have to win. They've got us, Pompey away and Wednesday at home but the rest of their games are against teams in the Play-Off hunt; they play 6 of the top 9 teams in their run-in. They will know that they can't just let us have the ball because we don't want it either and the game will devolve into nothingness which suits us more than them. I think if we let them have the ball they might surprise us with how much they shift the ball wide quickly and look to attack at speed so I just hope we go at them a bit and expose some fragility

Funnily I think each time we've been on SKY this season they've focused on the opposition.
Other than the Leicester (?) game, I think we've barely had a mention in this pre- 12:30 KO build up shows

No surprise that the starting 11 is the same as Birmingham.
I just said don't risk Ramsey if he had any reaction to the alleged Hamstring strain; he's starting so obviously not.

Even though I had TC on the bench I hope he can have one of his good days and Chambers can get forward at times as well.
I would like to see Leaburn replace Dykes and Kelman replace TC if the match situation is conducive to this switch after 65 to 70 minutes.

I feel more relaxed than normal despite Oxford's good form and Cafc bad record at Oxford.
Must win for Oxford so more pressure on them.

Well that sucks, hopefully Leaburn repeats his last performance against a Matt Bloomfield side

Leaburn to replace Dykes due to illness.

Weird for such a late change to be made for illness.

It does leave us a bit short of attacking options on the bench

Not if he’s just been as sick as a dog 🤮
  • I'd say not ideal just because of Dykes' experience, seems to always know where to be to get the most out of the long balls. But Miles has been playing well - hopefully he turns up in a big way today

Can everyone please share the last time they used cumming, long and brown in the same sentence ahead of today’s game please?
It’s just a shame Darren Custard is injured.

I imagine Miles will have to play the full 90 unless he physically spent, as there are no obvious replacements on the bench in that target man role.

Looking forward to seeing Dykes start today, can't see any reason why he might not be playing

Our new fox in the box Coady can do a cameo for the last 20! Travelling Addicks can be heard loud and clear. COYR

Ok, so Miles gets on in the 1st minute not the 65th to 70th as I wanted if not starting.
I hope he gets passes on the ground as well as in the air. Leaburn has a good touch for a man of 6f 10in !

    What are the technical rules?
If we submit the team to the referee an hour before kick off, but then a player drops out, does that mean a substitute place has been used up?

Will be like a Half-Time sub no doubt.
