    they will recover some of the money with sale of player contracts, and brining in lower valued EFL players.
    Though of course you have to have other clubs wanting your players.

    Football is just a horrible business model.  Lose a lot of money annually.  Maybe break even one year when you sell a good young player.  The only thing keeping the whole system afloat is that valuations upon sale have been going up but not enough to offset the accumulated annual losses.  If the number of wealthy narcissists interested in football as a five year loss making ego boost were to ever dry up,  the whole sport would collapse.
