Is anyone driving to this coming through Ashford or driving near/through Ashford.

Looking to car pool is all, happy to chip in with petrol.
I'm heading to meet the Mrs's family in Ashford County Wicklow later.

Hopefully at least a point to keep the total ticking over,  and I think they'll do it,  1-1.

    This'll be a Desmond. 2-2.

Godden and Campbell make up for Friday.

Difficult one to predict, we have 7 points from the last six games, they have 8 .. they are probably no better than the outfit we beat in the 1st game of the season with an in jury time goal, BUT they are at home

A draw at best methinks whilst hoping methinking is wrong and we get all 3 to step nearer safety

A must draw.  Communist football needs to come meandering out from behind the iron curtain once again after 2 defeats on the spin.  Nathan Lenin Jones needs to channel his inner Leicester revolution as he did post Millwall and get the troops to dig in.

A defeat would be very poor indeed

Naturally with 2 games in 4 games we can always expect a few changes. Would expect TC to start and probably Coady. The biggest decision NJ has to make is Mannion or TK.

Mannion has started the last 6, conceded 5. One a shocking error, and another long range shot he should save. Some might say he should have saved the Wrexham goal too but that might be slightly harsh.

TK has also made some errors and Mannion deserved his chance and at times has done well. But if NJ sees TK as the starter next season, Mannion has given NJ reasons to drop him and start TK.

Expect us to keep it tight and frustrate. Hopefully coming back to SE7 with a point or 3
  • Friday was disappointing but not personally buying into the doom and gloom. We're still a good side capable of getting a result, especially with Watford dropping and off and having nothing to play for.

1-1, Godden from the bench to make up for the miss
I would dispute a good side. I have seen all games at the Valley this season and all the sides bar Oxford have played better football than us. Our strengths are the negative parts of the game, closing down remaining tight at the back. We have very little creativity. When we do get a chance we are not clinical enough. Just look at Fridays game Campbell and Godden had clear cut chances to win that game. But like other games we did not take them. The total number of goals scored is appalling. Our top scorer is a midfielder.
I didn't say an entertaining side, or a great side. Good, decent, whatever - we've got plenty of points off plenty of teams better than Watford this season.

Every time we lose a game or two the threads are full of we're awful and no one can see where the next point is coming from, and then inevitably there it is.

fed up with Jones current formation, know there’s not a chance in hell of this happening, would like to see the 4-2-3-1 formation given  a go, I believe they finished the game utilising this formation.
Would like to see this formation too but I really hope it doesn't include Carey as a holding midfielder

No trains from Watford Junction due to engineering works. Good luck with the journey Charlton supporters travelling by public transport.
Metropolitan line is hit and miss. Watford Metropolitan line suspended for a few hours today due to fire alongside the track. Taxi or 30 minute walk from Watford tube station to Vicarage road. .

Another tough game and amother one where we go a goal down and it is effectively game over. Other matches down the bottom will see the gap close if we lose. Our record is poor at their ground, they do not lose 2 on the spin. 2-0 to Watford.

    Watford 1-1 Charlton

Another very Championship tie and a lot better than Stockport away.

Really hope we can get some points on the table and start feeling more optimistic.

Jones does have a tendency to turn things around.

Its all about us dragging ourselves over the line and then reassing during summer.

I always like Curbs ability to get one in just before the end of the season and start of with a new face in the building - Id love for Jones to do something similar.

We need a creative mid as a priority - an Andy Reid, a Cilon Walsh, a Claus Jensen.

We can use the double pivot and back 3 to keep it secure but we need some actual creative talent to utilise our strikers.

We need to spend significant funds to have a different season than this one.

"Good football" right now shouldn't matter to any of us tbf. It is points and reassess. We didn't beat Boro with good football, we beat them through the strengths you listed.

We rely on that and nicking a goal. Tbf that is crap but if we do it vs Watford I will take it and cradle it.

Focusing on the positive- Dykes goal showed the blend with Kelman  some intelligence and awareness of teammates for both. Also effort has not declined. But fundamentals of NJ tenure not really changing .
0-0 or 1-1 is most optimistic if they score 2 .....
Drifting towards a nail biting season end

99% agree, - Oxford I can't remember as so many of these dreary games are the same. I'm not an NJ "hater"- I feel sorry for guy- he's out of his depth and only has one plan

Thank god we got enough points on the board early as looking at the fixtures of the teams below us we are going to be pegged back a bit today as I can’t see anything but a defeat. Fortunately I think we are already safe and relaxed about it. Bring on next season

Wouldn’t mind seeing Fevrier and Campbell start (out wide). Both at least try to create chances and are positive. Hopefully Godden can get some more minutes.

We’ll need a best version of ourselves defensively but I can’t see us getting too much joy. 2 - 0

I wish I could be relaxed, with the fixtures around us today we badly badly need to get something. Don't care if we go to the Boro tactics and just go bodies on the line nick something off a long throw.

    0-1 Godden

Just clocked that NJ’s employment history means that he’ll be in for a torrid time from the home fans, hopefully that fires him up

A  Win would  be a late easter present,  but a  draw   would be   perfectly welcome  too , but I  fear its my  new  rose tinted  glasses saying another 3  nil defeat . If the oppponents score first thats it and our failing all season is  the lack of goals  O  fora  johnny summers or  clive mendonca .On a nother point it was great  to hear the names of Matt Tees and Charlie Wright mentionned on the Footage detectives  last week  albeit in their Grimsbay days .Could  do with Matt  now  and was there  ever a  valley hero like  Charlie who used  to talk  to the fans behindthe goal  and accept thier sweets  ?
  • The biggest worry against Bristol was how poor our defending was - another repeat of that and a heavy defeat on the cards.

    A difficult afternoon ahead....
