Can only see one result a home win by 2 or 3 goals. We are limping across the finishing line1

No reason why we can't grind out a point today, as we've done it often enough at the better teams this season. Coady vanishing since Boro has been confusing, I'd expect him to play today.
It's the Championship, where most teams can go on a decent mini run of form, or go on a mini slump. Who would have thought that Blackburn would get 7 points out of the last 9, or WBA 9 out of the last 15?1 -
Could do with something out of this game today, a loss and we are likely to be only 5 points clear by the end of the day.1
-
Thrashing for Oxford, Norwich, Stoke and us on a -1, -2, -3 handicap perm in each game, should hopefully pay for a season ticket at Welling for next season.2

Sounds like the majority of the season, given how many opposite fans hate Nathanfenaddick said:Just clocked that NJ’s employment history means that he’ll be in for a torrid time from the home fans, hopefully that fires him up0 -
Well, reading this thread seems we’re playing peak Brazil, and everyone below is going to hit Man City triple run in form, so why bother going5
-
Win and we are safe.
Looking at the other games, a loss and we could potentially be right back in it by the end of the day and memories of the last champ relegation are fresh in everyone’s minds.
Bristol City and Norwich … two home games and zero points, could turn out to be the big disaster if it came to it because I don’t bank on anything from any of the away games anyway.
I think the importance of Fridays shitshow has been downplayed a tad.0 -
0-0 a proper ground out point on the road and looking for a win across either Preston or Wednesday1

Why? We're unbeaten in the last 5 away games, winning 2 of them.DamoNorthStand said:Win and we are safe.

Indeed in 2026, we've lost only 1 of our 7 away games, inevitably Millwall, whereas we've lost 5 of our 10 home games.4 -

He’s is objectively incredibly unlikeable so it’s not a surpriseForeverAddickted said:

Watford have a lot of injuries at the back and their fans have lost interest in the season so this would be the ideal opportunity to be more positive from the start. However I expect we’ll sit deep as usual and invite them onto us which will likely allow them to build up a head of steam. They have some very good players who if we stand off them and allow them to knock it about will cut us open before too long.3

Myself and AAjr are in the Mad Squirrel tap room in the middle of town, just about to have the 1st pint, and waiting for my niece (Lion) and her husband (Hornet) for a multicultural day out at Vicarage Road. Will be in the home end, so if you see a couple of blokes being thrown out as Charlton scored their sixth, that would be us.6

I'm pretty sure that is exactly what people were saying about Bristol City, even the commentators.kinveachyaddick said:Watford have a lot of injuries at the back and their fans have lost interest in the season so this would be the ideal opportunity to be more positive from the start. However I expect we’ll sit deep as usual and invite them onto us which will likely allow them to build up a head of steam. 15 of the 22 teams in our division then are in it now. Funny how, despite all the changes since, so many have ended up back together.Blucher said:I came across this link quite by chance. Someone has reproduced the entire programme for Watford v Charlton on Boxing Day 1969. My dad took me on the Lewis Jr coach and it was my first ever Charlton away game. The two things I distinctly remember about were the large bales of hay around the dog track/pitch and Charlton conceding a very late equaliser.

We only score 2 goals every 9.5 matches approximately so if we get anything it has to be 0-0, 0-1 or 1-1.
I want to get two wins because 50 points may not be enough, and as I said before, I want to do it before the Ipswich game so we can all secretly hope for a defeat. 🤭0 -
Great preview FA. That Coady stat is nuts. Don't change a winning formula!!0
-
Dont understand why Coady hasnt been playing . Paying him so much yet not starting him.
When you think about it, we've had our 2 biggest earners in Coady and Kam both lounging on the bench for the last 4/5 games.0 -

Upside, gotta skip work to watch. Downside, gotta skip work to watch. Better be worth half day’s leave, but pretty sure won’t be…..0
-
The latter, fuck. Maybe I shouldn’t watch more often.0
