How the hell do they fill their time?

This Bh Weekend I went to 3 football games, I run, I played golf twice, I watched about 6 games on the telly, as well as two boxing shows and two golf tournaments.

Non sport people’s lives must be so, bland. What do they get instant high or low about like you do with sport? Even watching the W Ham v Leeds game I was jumping off the sofa and I don’t even like either of them!

    Theres always porn!

Nah, that’s a sport in my book

My uncle (by marriage) had no interest in sport whatsoever .. how did he fill his time ? .. workaholic and occasionaly reading history tomes
He sold his nursery business, died aged 92 and left my two cousins £2 Million in cash and a big house in the cotswolds in a tax efficient trust

Caveat .. I was staying with him, my aunt and cousins during the 1966 World Cup. He didn't have a clue what was going on, BUT we beat the Germans .. he was a WW2 veteran and that got him cheering

Had a mate who's sister would not go out with any bloke who didn't like sport, mainly football. Assumed that there was something not quite right about them! Not my wife!
I have a friend whose wife is just the same.
  • For past few decades I watched every sport event I could. Filled a lot of the weekend. I bought into the hype I suppose.

I got rid of sky/tnt etc and now just watch CAFC, baseball highlights each morning and the odd boxing fight. I would never go back to having access to all the sport.

Spend my time on films, podcasts, reading, sight seeing, gym, travel, friends, family, gardening, cooking and still nowhere near enough hours in the day. Nowhere near, which is why I just can’t value wall to wall sport any more.

Apart from family most of my mates and any relationships I've been in none of them like sport. Over the years they have all just put up with my 'weird' liking of sport. My liking of sport seems to give them some vague social interest in me as if I'm a part of some sort of nature documentary.. they don't understand my behaviour but they're curious as to why I do it..
And why I put myself through it especially when Charlton lose..

I watch Charlton, play football, coach my boys team.

I love attending a live sport event.

I watch very little football on the television. I watch no other sport on TV.

people that spend all of their time watching sport on TV are missing out on so much…
